Four Maisons, one shared passion for heritage and craftsmanship 

What do watchmaking, perfumery, trunkmaking and the art of the department store have in common? For Zenith, Moynat, Samaritaine and Guerlain, the answer lies in a shared appreciation for exceptional objects, the stories they tell and the craftsmanship behind them. Under the banner of The Art of Collecting, around 60 guests came together in London for a day dedicated to heritage, creativity and discovery. 

The journey itself set the tone. Guests travelled to Goodwood Revival aboard the British Pullman, Belmond’s collection of restored Art Deco carriages from the 1920s and 1930s. Its restored interiors and rich history provided a natural backdrop for a day centered on exceptional objects, craftsmanship and the stories behind them. Every detail was designed with the same attention, from invitations inspired by vintage train tickets to a lookbook created especially for the occasion. 

Throughout the journey, the four Maisons shared their respective expertise. Zenith presented a selection of its watch collections, including Revival timepieces inspired by historic models. Guerlain invited guests to discover L’Art & La Matière and its new interpretation of L’Heure Bleue. Moynat highlighted its expertise in trunks and canvas through a hands-on personalization experience. Samaritaine hosted guests in Celia, the British Pullman’s new private carriage designed by filmmaker Baz Luhrmann and Oscar-winning costume designer Catherine Martin, with color analysis workshops and live portrait sessions. 

The experience culminated in a Cabinet of Curiosities in Audrey, a historic carriage once used by members of the British royal family. Conceived as the collection of a contemporary collector, it brought together pieces from all four Maisons, allowing their histories and craftsmanship to sit side by side. Different in their origins and disciplines, they share an appreciation for creativity, craftsmanship and objects made to endure. 

The day ended with a gourmet dinner aboard the British Pullman, bringing the experience to a close around the four Maisons and the stories, creations and expertise they had shared.
