In Shanghai, RIMOWA continues the story of its luggage 

With the opening of its first flagship store in Shanghai, at the heart of the Kerry Center, RIMOWA imagines a new travel experience. Through services introduced in China for the first time, personalization and circularity, the German Maison reaffirms its ambition to craft luggage made to last. 

Every suitcase bears the traces of the journeys it has made. In this new space spanning more than 200 square meters, RIMOWA invites travelers to continue their story. Behind an imposing glass facade, the Maison’s iconic collections are presented in a contemporary setting featuring clean lines and wooden accents. Particular attention is paid to every detail, including customizable leather luggage tags adorned with an exclusive motif inspired by Shanghai’s famous Yuyuan Garden. 

This new location also places product longevity at its core. For the first time in China, the Maison is introducing its RE-CRAFTED program, which encourages the reuse, repair and recycling of well-travelled RIMOWA aluminum suitcases. The store also offers Crafted for You, a service previously available only in Cologne, Germany, allowing travelers to select the dimensions and proportions of their Classic suitcase. These two initiatives reflect the same ambition: to accompany travelers over time while adapting to their needs. 

Shanghai also inspires the Maison’s creations. To celebrate this new location, RIMOWA unveils a limited edition of its Original Cabin Monogram suitcase, featuring a purple and blue gradient that evokes the city’s lights after nightfall. Bringing together German heritage and the energy of the Chinese metropolis, this opening marks a new chapter in RIMOWA’s history, where every journey can become the beginning of another.
