Loro Piana has unveiled the new Ghiera, a bag inspired by Loro Piana’s textile heritage. The shape is reminiscent of the rings of a spinning machine, a key element in the processing of fibres. The details take inspiration from the signature ring-shaped pendant that has always adorned the Maison’s women’s garments and textile accessories. It is so gentle to the touch that it recalls the finest cashmere, the iconic fabric of Loro Piana.
To celebrate the launch of the new bag, the Loro Piana Montenapoleone pop-up store in Milan has been transformed into a leather artisan’s workshop. The space showcases the close links between leather craftsmanship and the Maison with a presentation of specialised tools and leather swatches that emphasise a shared passion for savoir-faire and an obsession with quality.
Handcrafted in Italy, the Ghiera bag combines strong personality and discreet charm with a linear minimalist design. Elegant, functional and timeless, the silhouette with flap features curved, continuous, and harmonious lines. The clasp is a stylised take on the Loro Piana pendant and an instantly recognisable signature detail. With its ring-shaped loops, the bag can be carried over the shoulder or cross-body.
Every detail of the Ghiera bag reflects Loro Piana’s uncompromising commitment to artisanal excellence. From the exquisite finishings to the selection of exceptionally smooth leather, nothing has been left to chance in crafting this new bag from the Italian Maison.
The pop-up on Via Montenapoleone in Milan is open until February 19.
