LVMH reached out to future talents in Lyon, the capital of France's Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, inviting candidates to discover the Group's 280 Métiers d’Excellence and apply for job openings and training opportunities.
Long renowned for its heritage of know-how in leather and jewelry craftsmanship, the region is a strategic recruiting priority for LVMH Maisons. The Group currently counts nine workshops and 29 stores in the region, totaling over 2,800 local employees.
LVMH also has extensive training programs in the region, with 140 plus apprentices and four partnerships between the LVMH Institut des Métiers d’Excellence and local jewelry vocational schools.
Two new partnerships were signed at the beginning of the 2024 school year with SEPR l’Ecole des Métiers de Lyon and Ecole Saint-Eloi d’Annecy, joining existing programs with HEJ Lyon and Lycée Amblard in Valence.
Eleven learners in the programs are apprenticing at Dior ateliers and take Master Classes through the Institut des Métiers d’Excellence during their multi-year training.
The Lyon stop at the Sucrière de Lyon on February 19 gave visitors a chance to discover specialized craft skills in leather working (Louis Vuitton), jewelry (Christian Dior Couture) and watchmaking (Bulgari and Hublot), as well as design (LVMH Recherche and TAG Heuer) and customer experience skills (Louis Vuitton, Sephora, Parfums Christian Dior).
For the first time, independent local artisans who are suppliers of the LVMH Group were part of the event, presenting their exceptional expertise in collaboration with the Institut pour les Savoir-Faire Français. They included straw marquetry with Manon Bouvier (Atelier Paelis) – awarded the prestigious Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Artisan in France) title and winner of the ELLE Prix des Artisanes– as well as paper marquetry with artisans from Atelier Berger.
