Since 1998, LVMH has been a partner of the Hyeres International Festival of Fashion and Photography.
The Hyeres Festival is a platform designed to promote young creative talent in the fields of fashion and photography, and features exhibitions, round table discussions and two competitions: one in fashion and the other in photography. These give ten stylists and ten photographers the chance to present their work and collections to a panel of professionals. Many of today’s successful talents are previous winners, including Viktor & Rolf, Stéphanie Coudert and Felipe Oliveira Baptista.
Creativity is a core value at LVMH, and allows our Houses to present exceptional products. Attracting the best designers and enabling them to practice their métier with the greatest freedom are key priorities for our Houses. For this reason, LVMH is proud to be a partner of the Hyeres Festival as it unveils new talent.
Many Artistic Directors presided the fashion jury over the years, including, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, from Kenzo, Riccardo Tisci from Givenchy and Kris Van Assche from Dior Homme.
For the 30th edition of the Festival, the Fashion jury awarded its Grand Prize to German designer Annelie Schubert, citing her talent in creating subtle relationships between colors and fabrics. The Chloé Award went to Anna Bornhold, while a Jury special mention was given to Wieke Sinnige for this anniversary year.
The Photography jury gave the Grand Prize to Sjoerd Knibbeler of the Netherlands, whose work explores the limits of the medium, the sensitivity and sensorial perceptions that the lens cannot literally capture. Also to mark the 30th anniversary of the Festival, a special prize was awarded to Greek photographer Evangelia Kranioti.
