Identity

Maison  Francis  Kurkdjian was created in 2009 following the meeting of Francis Kurkdjian, a renowned perfumer with scores of successful creations to his name, and Marc Chaya, a former associate of Ernst & Young. The founding duo have applied their complementary talents to conceive a new territory of free expression in contemporary fragrances – sensual, generous and multi-facetted – where the perfume is naturally the hero.

Perfumer Francis Kurkdjian’s remarkable creative talent defines the unique personality of his eponymous house. This personality expresses codes as seductive as they are precise: purity, sophistication, timelessness and the boldness of reinvented classicism. The different facets of exceptional expertise come together and echo one another, providing the fundamentals on which Maison  Francis  Kurkdjian has been built, shaping its singular quality.

With a focus on deliberate and sound international expansion, Maison  Francis  Kurkdjian is currently present in some 40 countries.

Art & culture

A key element in the founding vision of Maison  Francis  Kurkdjian is creative expression through distinctively original artistic and cultural endeavors, engaging fragrances with an array of sometimes unexpected realms.

Imagined by Francis Kurkdjian and the gardeners of the Grand Trianon at the Château de Versailles, Le Jardin du Parfumeur springs from a mutual desire to share their respective knowledge and know-how with a broad audience. From spring 2023, the Perfumer’s Garden will invite the public to discover hundreds of different perfume-making plants.

A passionate music-lover, Francis Kurkdjian embarked on an entirely new experience with a very special concert in December 2022 at the Philharmonie de Paris entitled “L’Essence de la Musique”.

Guided by the emotions expressed by Klaus Mäkelä, Musical Director of the Orchestre de Paris, in his performance of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Cello Suite No. 2 for unaccompanied cello, Francis Kurkdjian created scented notes for each of the seven movements in the work. The performance was followed by a discussion of the creative process with the audience…and a clear desire to reprise this remarkable experience.
