Position
The Business & Merchandising Analyst is an integrated support role that combines analysis with hands-on coordination for both the Finance and Merchandising functions. The role supports the business through accurate reporting, commercial analysis, business partnering, and practical follow-up on sales, product, and stock matters.
The Analyst will gain broad exposure to sales and retail performance, merchandising, inventory, and operational data across APAC, with particular focus on Hong Kong, Korea, and China. Working under the direction of the Finance & Operations Director and in close partnership with the Merchandising Manager, the role acts as a regional coordinator by providing the information, organisation, and day-to-day follow-up needed to progress key initiatives and improve execution.
Job responsibilities
1. Retail Performance and Reporting
- Track sales performance and key KPIs, including sell-out, sell-through, stock cover, stock turn, availability, product rotation, MTO, and end-of-season performance.
- Prepare daily and weekly sales summaries, monthly sales reports, and sales trackers for management, Fashion Group, LVMH, and regional stakeholders.
- Prepare analysis for weekly and monthly business reviews, including sales, collection, product mapping, boutique, and category performance.
- Maintain the monthly stock follow-up and Finance dashboard. Support Power BI reviews, regional reporting enhancements, and data-quality checks.
- Highlight sales trends, category opportunities, and performance gaps to support business decisions.
2. Regional Merchandising and Buying Support
The Analyst acts as a regional coordinator to support the Merchandising Manager across APAC, Korea, and China.
- Prepare buying templates, pre-buy analysis, and product performance data for buying session.
- Provide hands-on support during buying sessions by process the order, updating analysis, recording decisions, and coordinating follow-up actions.
- Support follow-up after buying sessions, including order tracking, assortment follow-up, product delivery, and performance reporting.
- Support the Merchandising Manager with assortment planning, product allocation, stock rebalancing, and product lifecycle follow-up for launches, carry-over items, and phase-out products.
- Gather boutique feedback, prepare store-visit reports, and conduct competitor and market analysis to support local merchandising needs.
3. Inventory and Product-Flow Support
- Monitor stock levels, availability, stock ageing, stock cover, slow movers, and product rotation.
- Support agreed inventory actions, including inter-boutique transfers, stock rebalancing, replenishment follow-up, and markdown-support analysis.
- Support inventory planning for product launches, peak seasons, buying periods, and end-of-season activity.
- Follow up with Supply Chain and headquarters teams on stock availability and replenishment cycles, including regular monthly follow-up.
- Support stock-adjustment validation and follow up on warehouse-to-boutique product flow, delivery status, and shipment issues when required.
- Provide ad hoc support for Korea-related logistics, including inbound and outbound flows, transport, delivery, and customs follow-up, when assigned.
4. Ad-hoc Support
- Support Finance with accurate and timely sales and inventory data for reporting, reconciliation, and follow-up.
- Respond to boutique requests for product and stock information and coordinate follow-up with the relevant teams.
- Support reporting, data, operational, and business-improvement projects assigned by the Finance & Operations Director.
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Merchandising, Retail Management, Economics, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a retail or merchandising analyst role.
- Strong Microsoft 365 proficiency (especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams); Power BI or similar reporting-tool experience preferred.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
