Position Summary: The Trainer and Events Manager is a key Guerlain Ambassador, responsible for elevating brand expertise and driving engagement. This role develops and delivers comprehensive training for internal teams and external partners, ensuring product knowledge and brand values are expertly conveyed. Simultaneously, the Trainer and Events Manager plans and executes a range of impactful brand events, including PR, masterclasses, and VIC events. Overseeing all logistics and budgets for this scope, he ensures seamless execution and qualitative success, contributing to Guerlain's prestigious image and business.

Job responsibilities

  • Training and Development:
    • Develop and deliver trainings for Guerlain's internal retail teams and traveling beauty consultants (BCs), covering product knowledge (fragrance, skincare, makeup), advanced selling skills, client experience, and brand heritage.
    • Organize and lead larger-scale training events for external partners, including key accounts such as ICI PARIS XL and Douglas, ensuring consistent brand messaging and product education. These trainings may take place at Guerlain's facilities, partner locations, external venues or via digital platforms.
    • Adapt and create engaging training materials, including presentations, product guides, workshop exercises, and e-learning content, in line with HQ guidelines and annual plan.
    • Assess training effectiveness through feedback, performance metrics, and ongoing support, adapting programs as needed.
    • Stay aware of industry trends, competitor activities, and new product launches to ensure training content remains current and relevant.

 

  • Event Planning and Execution:
    • Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of brand events across the Netherlands, including, but not limited to, PR events, masterclasses, product activations.
    • Manage all logistical aspects of events, including: venue selection, catering, guest lists, aligning with our Marketing Team and brand guidelines.
    • Oversee on-site event management, ensuring excellence in event execution, smooth operations and the prompt resolution of any issues.
    • Ensure the achievement of set qualitative and/or quantitative objectives for all events.
    • Represent Guerlain's brand values and image at all times, acting as a brand ambassador with excellent grooming in line with Guerlain DNA and a strong sense of luxury & service.

 

  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
    • Collaborate closely with internal teams (Marketing, Merchandising, Digital, Product Management and Retail) and external partners (suppliers, agencies, venues and training partners) to ensure the successful delivery of training initiatives and brand events.\
    • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders involved in training and events by providing clear briefings, regular updates and post-event reporting.
    • Ensure all training initiatives and events are planned and executed in line with Guerlain's brand guidelines, image and luxury standards, while maintaining consistency with HQ direction.

 

 

  • Budget Management:
    • Monitor and administer the allocated annual and per-event budgets for both training and events activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial guidelines; in line with the Sales and Events Manager.
    • Track expenditures, reconcile event-related costs, and provide regular budget updates and cost/benefit analyses to support the Sales & Events Manager in budget monitoring and reporting.

Profile

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a similar role focusing on training and event management, preferably within the luxury retail, beauty, or fragrance industry.
  • Exceptional presentation and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management.
  • Creative flair and an eye for detail to deliver memorable and impactful brand experiences.
  • Ability to travel frequently throughout the Netherlands for training sessions and events. Possession of a valid driving license B is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Fluency in Dutch and English is required; French is a plus.
  • A deep passion for luxury beauty and an understanding of Guerlain's heritage and product categories.
