Inspired by its unique creative heritage, the Copacabana Palace, A Belmond Hotel, has unveiled an unprecedented program of celebrations to mark its 100th anniversary. The end of 2023 will welcome a stellar lineup of artistic, cultural and culinary events that honor the distinctive local culture and heritage.

These initiatives include a partnership with Casa Amarela, an educational, artistic and social support center. Featuring visual and photographic activations by French artist JR around the theme of Mother’s Day, this philanthropic partnership will continue to grow to provide long-term support for local communities.

The hotel’s mythic facilities are also getting a compelling makeover. The iconic swimming pool, designed by renowned architect Ivan Rezende and the hotel’s façade will be restyled and restored. Featuring an innovative lighting system and a restoration of the building’s volume, the project has received support from historical heritage organizations and is fully aligned with Belmond’s values.

The Copacabana Palace will host a series of exciting events that resonate with its storied past. They include a gala dinner followed by a performance by celebrated Brazilian singer and composer Gilberto Gil. What’s more, a new team of acclaimed Brazilian chefs will craft menus that evoke the star-studded days when guests ranged from Brigitte Bardot to Princess Diana.

This memorable experience channels the inimitable festive Brazilian spirit, along with Belmond’s passion for offering incomparable and authentic experiences in inspiring destinations steeped in history.
