For the eleventh annual LVMH “Dîner des Maisons Engagées” fundraising event last December, LVMH commissioned an original work by artist Liu Bolin. The photograph is being auctioned to benefit Hôpital Robert–Debré, adding to financial support from the LVMH Group to help fight sickle cell anemia.

Entitled L’Arbre de Vie, or The Tree of Life, the work stages the artist – known for making himself ‘invisible’ by blending into his  photographs – alongside a young patient at the hospital against the backdrop of a collage made from a dozen drawings by children receiving care from Robert Debré children’s hospital.

The work will be sold by Sotheby’s on February 20 as part of its Contemporary Discoveries auction, which brings together a hundred artworks and photographs from international collections.

Ahead of the auction it is being displayed from February 16-20 at Sotheby’s gallery at 76, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, 75008 Paris (no admission charge).

The auction is open to everyone from February 13-20, 2024 via: Contemporary Discoveries | Sotheby’s (sothebys.com)
