Inspired by its signature Force 10 bracelet, Fred has created a new collection of eight eyewear styles that reflect the Maison’s maritime influence. The selection of sunglasses and optical models has been designed in collaboration with Thélios, the eyewear specialist of the LVMH Group. Working closely with Thélios to update its eyewear offering, Fred has also unveiled the Force 10 Gift Set, an exclusive limited edition available around the world.
Created in 1966, the Force 10 bracelet is an emblem of Maison Fred. With a braided steel marine cable and a gold clasp, the Force 10 is more than a jewelry piece, becoming a symbol of freedom and casual chic. LVMH created Thélios to penetrate the luxury eyewear sector, building on an alliance with Marcolin. Thélios boasts expertise in crafting unique frames that meld Italian savoir-faire and the identity of individual LVMH Maisons, from design and production through distribution. This new collaboration between the two LVMH Maisons has led to a collection of eyeglasses that feature the signature braided marine cable of the Force 10 bracelet on the temples.
To mark the relaunch of its eyewear range Fred has also teamed with Thélios to introduce a special Force 10 Gift Set. Available in a limited edition of just 66 pieces worldwide – a figure that references the year the iconic design was created – the gift set includes a Force 10 bracelet and a pair of sunglasses with a solid gold frame. The set both connects with the maritime heritage of Fred and embodies the innovation and excellence that Thélios brings to the luxury eyewear segment.
Available from the end of November 2018, the Force 10 Gift Set will be sold by a limited number of opticians around the world. This unique creation lets the LVMH Group’s eyewear specialist begin establishing a network of select retailers who share a sense of pride in being part of this new vision of eyewear.
