To celebrate the 40th edition of European Heritage Days, Hennessy invites the public to discover Mobilis, an immersive virtual reality experience that showcases the Maison’s unique savoir-faire and heritage.

The installation in Cognac is inspired by Richard Hennessy’s sketches, including the boats he imagined would one day export his cognacs around the world. For the Heritage Days, French designers Olivier Kuntzel and Florence Deygas have created a multisensorial experience where craftsmanship and high technology seamlessly merge. Visitors are embarked on a dreamlike voyage thanks to cutting-edge virtual reality innovations with awe-inspiring special effects – wind and vibrations – and latest generation VR headsets.

The itinerary follows sketches done by Richard Hennessy to immerse visitors in the cognac Maison, including the different crafts that go into making its renowned spirits, from grapegrowing and distillation to assemblage, cooperage and calligraphy.

“At Hennessy we are very passionate about preserving, enriching, and passing on our heritage. What I find particularly fascinating with Mobilis is the way Olivier Kuntzel and Florence Deygas approached the notion of legacy – blending history with poetic license,” says Laurent Boillot, President and CEO of Hennessy.

Free guided tours on Saturday, September 16 and Sunday, September 17, from 12pm to 7pm. Reservations on www.hennessy.com
