As the Covid-19 crisis continues in numerous regions around the world, the health and economic impact is becoming increasingly acute, jeopardizing the welfare of large numbers of people. In this critical situation, LVMH Maisons are stepping up their efforts to support their host communities and help them through this difficult period.

Since the very beginning of the public health crisis, LVMH Maisons have deployed an array of resources and efforts to help fight the Covid-19 pandemic, and intend to remain mobilized for as long as is needed.

Several LVMH Maisons took part in a charity auction from April 21-27 initiated by fashion journalist Laurence Benaïm. Proceeds from the auction have been donated to “SOS EPHAD”, an initiative launched by the Fondation Recherche Alzheimer to help nursing homes, which have been hit especially hard by the virus. Hosted by the Tajan auction house, the online sale included such sumptuous items as a chair made by Hedi Slimane for Celine, a completely customizable RIMOWA suitcase, and magnums of Château d’Yquem. Unique experiences were also auctioned, including a tour of Louis Vuitton workshops in Asnières.

LVMH Maisons are also supporting actions to mitigate the social and economic impact of Covid-19. Loewe is donating a portion of sales from its new Paula’s Ibiza collection to Plataforma de Infancia, an alliance of Spanish social organizations that protect the rights of children and adolescents. The funds raised will go towards educational programs for disadvantaged young people.  This project aims to reduce educational inequality and dropout rates during the crisis and lockdown in Spain.

“Estela has become a go-to restaurant for my husband and me when we are looking for interesting food in a relatively small restaurant with a fun vibe. The AGM has become a friend of ours over the years and we can talk to her for hours (if she could). Before the shutdown we took our whole family there for my mother-in-law’s 75th birthday and she was excited to sit in the same table where the Obamas sat when they dined there. We love the Fried Arroz Negro with Squid and Romesco, the cured fluke with uni, which has the most interesting texture and flavor, and for dessert their chocolate cake with homemade sweet cream is beyond delicious. It's basically a neighborhood restaurant with a Michelin star. Pink Shirtmaker is reaching out to local communities with a solidarity initiative to support small businesses, which have suffered terribly from the crisis. Started by Pink staff, the Fabric Of Communities movement is engaging with the Maison’s social network communities to encourage donations to these businesses. Virtually all Pink employees have participated, joined by 60 influencers and friends of the brand in making contributions to local businesses. Pink Shirtmaker is also supporting medical staff in the United States and the United Kingdom by sending 1,000 shirts to hospitals in each country.

Restaurants and hotels figure among the businesses that have been hit hardest by the lockdown. These hospitality businesses are indispensable partners for numerous LVMH Wines & Spirits Maisons, especially for promotion of their products. To support them in these difficult times, LVMH Vins d’Exception, the division that groups LVMH wine estates, is returning the generosity that these partners show throughout the year.

A special gift set of six bottles from Clos des Lambrays, Château d’Yquem and Château Cheval Blanc has gone on sale and all proceeds will be donated to three charities: Fondation de France (France), Hospitality Action (United Kingdom) and the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund (United States).

The LVMH Group once again thanks all its employees for their unwavering solidarity engagement through these many initiatives to aid local communities.
