Louis Vuitton has released the 2020 collection of its celebrated Silver Lockit bracelets, designed for the first time by Men’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh. Since 2016, Louis Vuitton has been committed to UNICEF to raise funds to help vulnerable children around the world.
Louis Vuitton launched the #MAKEAPROMISE campaign to provide support for UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund. By creating and selling the special Silver Lockit collection of bracelets, the Maison raises funds for UNICEF actions and programs to support conflict and disaster-affected children, including access to water, nutrition, health and protection services.
For each bracelet sold, 100 euros is donated directly to UNICEF. This support will notably enable UNICEF to help Syrian refugee children and their families, including those living in host communities in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Turkey, as well as children affected by recent natural disasters.
The 2020 edition of Silver Lockit bracelets by Virgil Abloh is inspired by the designer’s Spring-Summer 2020 men’s wear collection, with four colorways: black, orange, celadon green and a blue with hints of yellow. Fitted with a Louis Vuitton charm and engraved padlock, the colorful cords are connected by Virgil Abloh’s signature chain, available for the first time in sterling silver. The Silver Lockit bracelet is inspired by the famous tumbler lock invented by Georges Vuitton in 1890 to protect customers’ most precious belongings. This collection embodies the Maison’s promise to help provide protection for the most vulnerable children around the world.
