On February 10 MoëtHennessy announced that it had joined the Solar Impulse project as Official Partner. The Wines & Spirits division of the LVMH Group will support the first round-the-world flight powered only by solar energy.
MoëtHennessy brands all share the pioneering spirit and drive to excel that inspire the Solar Impulse project – the only airplane with unlimited autonomy, powered by solar energy – making this a natural partnership. MoëtHennessy houses have developed and thrived thanks to the talent and vision of their people, who have always been inspired by a quest for adventure and discovering new territories.
This partnership also resonates with the strong engagement of MoëtHennessy and its brands to limit their ecological footprint and promote renewable energies. MoëtHennessy products all derive from the resources of the earth, and its brands thus naturally pursue a proactive environmental policy anchored by seven key elements: sustainable agriculture, energy, water and effluents, ecological waste, ecological design, a green supply chain and choosing responsible providers.
On March 1 or shortly afterwards, the second Solar Impulse prototype, SI2, will take off on an eleven-stop tour around the world. MoëtHennessy is also the Host Partner of the Monaco Control Center from which engineers, scientists and meteorologists will oversee the project. The control center was inaugurated on February 10 at a ceremony attended by Prince Albert II of Monaco.
MoëtHennessy will accompany Solar Impulse teams at each stage in this endeavor with MoëtHennessy Lounges, where friends and supporters will be joined by celebrities to share the excitement firsthand. MoëtHennessy’s 6,000 employees worldwide will be able to track the progress of the adventure live via an online platform.
