Position

We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Retail Merchandising Manager to oversee the Women’s Leather Goods and Shoes categories across the Asia Pacific region. The ideal candidate will employ a rationalized, data-driven approach to optimize assortment, maximize sell through and stock coverage, and ensure our product strategy aligns seamlessly with both global directives and local market dynamics.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Assortment & Buying: Strategically curate and manage the regional assortment for Women's Bags and Accessories. Formulate seasonal buying strategies and manage the Open-To-Buy with a logical approach to balance commercial viability with brand elevation.
  • Business Analysis & Performance Management: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (sales, sell-through, months of coverage). Deliver concise, logical reporting on category performance, utilizing data to rationalized business decisions, inventory rebalancing, and monitoring pricing positionings.
  • Brand Development & Strategic Growth: Act as the regional category ambassador. Drive the strategic expansion of the Bags and Accessories business, recognizing its critical role in customer recruitment and elevation, and long-term brand positioning within the APAC market.
  • Inventory Optimization: Maintain a healthy inventory architecture. Collaborate closely with Planning teams in both HQ and local to ensure optimal stock allocations, minimizing stock while maximizing seasonal sell-through.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Operate diplomatically and effectively across various departments. Partner with Retail, Operations, Visual Merchandising, Retail Excellence, CRM and Marketing teams to ensure clear communication of product strategies, delivery schedules, and guidelines.
  • Market Intelligence: Continuously monitor the APAC luxury landscape. Provide structured feedback to Global headquarters regarding local client trends, competitor activities, and specific market requirements to influence future collection development.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience in retail merchandising or buying, with a proven track record in luxury Women’s Leather Goods and Shoes.
  • Analytical Acumen: Exceptionally strong quantitative and analytical skills. Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business strategies.
  • Communication & Diplomacy: Excellent stakeholder management skills. Ability to communicate logically, concisely, and diplomatically with both regional teams and Global headquarters.
  • Strategic Vision: Deep understanding of the luxury retail landscape in Asia Pacific, coupled with the ability to balance short-term commercial targets with long-term brand desirability.
  • Language: Fluency in written and spoken Business English and Mandarin is mandatory.
