Intellectual Property Assistant, Seasonal

Position

Louis Vuitton is seeking an Intellectual Property Assistant, seasonal to join our Intellectual Property Department based in New York City. The Seasonal Intellectual Property Assistant plays a key role in supporting the protection of Louis Vuitton intellectual property rights throughout the United States.

Job responsibilities

Intellectual Property Research & Analysis

• Analyze U.S. Customs and Border Protection seizure data to identify emerging counterfeit importation trends.
• Conduct internet and social media research to develop intelligence on counterfeit activities and enforcement targets.
• Review investigative reports and develop analytical recommendations.
• Develop analytical reports and recommendations based on identified trends and patterns.

Enforcement Support

• Prepare monthly Customs statistics and reporting materials.
• Draft cease and desist notices and review responses from importers to identify further investigative leads.
• Assist in developing domestic targets and distribution networks linked to CBP seizures.
• Support criminal and civil intellectual property matters as needed.

Reporting, Training & Data Management

• Create flowcharts, matrices, presentations, and visual reporting tools to support enforcement priorities and training initiatives.
• Develop PowerPoint presentations for training federal, state, and local law enforcement personnel in Louis Vuitton product authentication.
• Maintain records and input information into internal databases.
• Prepare and distribute monthly intellectual property reports and related documentation.

Intelligence & Investigative Support

• Assist with evidence processing and documentation for criminal investigations.
• Conduct visibility studies and collect data on counterfeit activity in major market areas.
• Support the preparation of legal correspondence, including contributory liability notices and vendor cease and desist letters.
• Coordinate requests for forfeited product samples from Customs authorities.

Cross-Functional Partnership

• Collaborate with the Intellectual Property team on enforcement, investigative, and reporting initiatives.
• Work with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, Customs officials, and other external partners.
• Provide research and analytical support for special projects and strategic enforcement efforts.
• Contribute to continuous process improvements and the adoption of new technologies that enhance investigative capabilities.

Profile

We welcome individuals with a relevant or similar bachelor’s degree. Ideally, this individual will bring strong analytical, research, and critical-thinking skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities. This role requires proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and online research tools, as well as the ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, stay organized, and maintain strong attention to detail. The candidate should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, with a demonstrated interest in investigative analysis, intellectual property protection, law enforcement support, or related fields. Experience analyzing trends, patterns, and intelligence information is preferred.

The appointed candidate will be offered a an hourly range within USD $30.00 to $32.00 per hour, a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, various paid time off programs, employee discount/perks and two retirement plans both with employer contributions.

The position is based in the Louis Vuitton Corporate Office in Midtown Manhattan and works closely with the Intellectual Property Criminal Enforcement team.
