Your Impact:
As Retail Manager, you have the pivotal mission to embody and uphold the exquisite heritage and brand values of DIOR while driving the commercial success and the development of PCD's Travel Retail Business within your portfolio of doors within a dynamic travel retail environment. Fostering an exceptional client experience, you drive your retail teams towards collective and individual achievements. A true business strategist, you analyze and devise multi-faceted action plans to enable your teams to overachieve their POS objectives - and develop your team members into strong performers and people developers.
You play an essential role as bridge between the field (70% of your time) and HQ stakeholders, encompassing the following key areas:
- Achieving commercial excellence: To strategically manage performance, focusing on sales targets, profitability, and operational efficiency. This involves effective sales analysis, incentive management, and the implementation of proactive strategies to maximize our Sell Out, ranking and market share.
- Inspiring and developing the team: To lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team. This includes fostering a culture of excellence, providing continuous coaching, and empowering team members to reach their full potential, thereby contributing to both individual and collective growth and reward policies.
- Upholding brand image and standards: To meticulously maintain the visual merchandising and operational standards of the POS in strict alignment with Dior's global guidelines.
- Elevating client experience: To cultivate an environment where every client interaction is transformed into a memorable and personalized luxury experience. This includes ensuring impeccable service, perfect product knowledge, and an intuitive understanding of client needs and desires.
- Key opinion leader: Build and maintain strong relationships with key airport authorities, operators, local media, VIP clients, and other influential stakeholders within the travel retail ecosystem to leverage influence and foster positive relationships and outcomes.
- Strategic market insight: To act as a vital link between the POS and European head office management by providing critical market feedback, consumer insights, and competitive analysis.
A Retail Manager is a brand ambassador, a strategic leader, and a curator of the Dior universe, responsible for translating the brand's vision into a tangible, luxurious reality for every client.
Job responsibilities
BUSINESS STRATEGY:
- Be acknowledgeable of your ecosystem and your POS sales performance by analyzing regularly your sell out results
- Drive and monitor commercial activity in accordance with data available such as sales targets, ranking, market shares, Average Unit Sales, Units Per Transaction… and define incentive program
- Define retail team targets (collective at POS level and individual for CM/BC) to motivate them and to drive sales and growth in line with brand ambitions
- Define and adapt the retail strategy per POS based on performance, targets and local challenges
- Develop trade activities, and on counter initiatives to exceed sales targets and drive consistent revenue growth
- Proactively manage budget, control operational expenses, optimize levers to enhance profitability / Be aware of P&L and accountable for profitability / ROI
- Ensure brand image and the 360° execution of launches in line with On Counter Date
- Monitor and report to management sales thanks to sales dashboards
- Prepare comprehensive reports on store performance, market conditions, competitive intelligence and team achievements
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
- Lead, coach & motivate CM/BC (onboard, brand guidelines, share a vision & clear objectives, share internal & competitors best practices…) fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Be at ease with remote management
- Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and implement strategies to recognize achievements and address performance gaps
- Build a succession plan for long-term growth and development
- Ensure the recruitment of CM/BC in collaboration with HR and work on retention of the best qualified talents to match business requirements and set a complementarity of profile competencies
- Ensure optimum teams and promoters staffing at all times in line with budgets & business needs. Manage shifts (roster), coverage and planning
- Develop share of love of all staff: team, promoter, generic staff
- Ensure HR life cycle of your team in collaboration with the local HR
- Cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment
OPERATIONS:
- Be the referent for CM/BC on the operations of POS to ensure operation compliance and excellence of execution following PCD guidelines (SOP, processes …)
- Ensure efficient communication with HQ
- Lead POS opening and all related processes
- Identify, consolidate & report operational needs or issues on POS (VM, POSM, IT, stock, tools etc) and ensure VM excellence (testers, blotters, visuals) on all POS of your perimeter
- Be in charge of the maintenance of your POS and coordinate with Store Design if needed
- Coordinate with Commercial Team at HQ to ensure efficient order tracking and processing stocks to ensure optimum inventory
- Support implementation of Retail Operations (traffic tracking and productivity tools)
- Share common VM guidelines elaborated from HQ to the field and support local adaptation for launches
- Supervise and execute the trade activities formulated by marketing / retail marketing department
RETAILERS:
- Create strong relationship with retailers and airport authorities to ensure collaboration on data sharing, team management and goal alignment
- Present regularly business review and marketing plan to maximize business plan and collect market data
- Identify opportunities and share them with HQ for them to negotiate with retailers (future plans/refit/locations)
- Develop partnerships with other LVMH members
- Acculturate retailers to PCD's values, vision and ambition
Profile
- Ideally, you would have at minimum 7-10 years of progressive retail management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the luxury fashion, beauty, or accessories sector. Travel retail experience is highly desirable
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to drive substantial sales growth within a luxury retail environment
- Be at ease in a multicultural and multilanguage environment
- Fluency in English is essential proficiency in additional languages relevant to the travel retail location is a significant advantage
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by the demands of a dynamic travel retail environment
- Extensive travels in Europe (Norway, Germany, and Northern Europe…) with a minimum of 3 days per week, including frequent field visits.
