Role Overview
We are a leading multinational beauty retail company operating across digital, physical retail, and omnichannel ecosystems. To support our rapid business growth and technology transformation, we are seeking a seasoned Enterprise Architect to lead the holistic design, governance, and evolution of our China IT architecture landscape.
In this critical role, you will own the end-to-end architectural roadmap covering Digital, Data, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and HR systems. You will bridge global strategy and local execution, working closely with Global EA to interpret and adapt headquarters’ architectural guidelines, while driving alignment across all China IT functions. Your mission is to build a resilient, scalable, and integrated architecture that accelerates business agility and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Architecture Strategy & Governance:
· Define, document, and maintain the overall enterprise architecture blueprint for China, ensuring it aligns with business strategy and global standards.
· Lead the systematic design and review of all internal IT systems across Digital (e‑commerce, mobile apps, CRM), Data (analytics, CDP), Retail (POS, store systems, inventory), Supply Chain (WMS, TMS, demand planning), Finance (ERP, budgeting), and HR (HCM, payroll).
2. Integration & Optimization:
· Evaluate and optimize system integrations, APIs, and data flows to improve efficiency, reduce technical debt, and enable seamless omnichannel experiences.
· Establish integration patterns, middleware strategies, and data governance frameworks to support real‑time decision making and business growth.
3. Global & Local Coordination
· Act as the primary architectural liaison with Global EA, staying abreast of latest global guidelines, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps.
· Adapt and localize global standards for China’s unique regulatory, market, and operational requirements, ensuring compliance while maintaining architectural coherence.
4. Cross‑functional Collaboration
· Facilitate architecture alignment across all China IT functions (application development, infrastructure, data, security, etc.), driving consensus on principles, patterns, and technology choices.
· Lead architecture review boards, design authority sessions, and solutioning workshops with business stakeholders to ensure early and continuous alignment.
5. Change & Transformation
· Champion architectural modernization initiatives (microservices, event‑driven architectures) to support business scalability and innovation.
· Mentor internal teams on architecture best practices, promoting a culture of disciplined design and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
1. Experience
· Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture, system integration, and application development, with at least 5 years in a senior architecture role.
· Proven track record in retail industry (preferably beauty, FMCG, or luxury) with deep understanding of retail operations, omnichannel, and supply chain dynamics.
· Extensive experience working in multinational companies (MNCs), with demonstrated ability to navigate China‑global communication and collaboration workflows, cultural nuances, and decision‑making processes.
· Prior exposure to China‑specific digital ecosystems (WeChat, Tmall, Douyin, etc.) and local regulatory environments.
2. Technical Expertise
· Deep knowledge of modern enterprise integration patterns (ESB, API gateway, event streaming, microservices) and data architectures (data lakes, warehouses, real‑time pipelines).
· Experience with digital transformation in retail, including AI/ML, personalization, and E-commerce.
· Familiarity with key retail systems (SAP, Blue Yonder, Salesforce, Adobe, etc.) and cloud platforms (Ali/AWS/Azure/GCP).
· Strong understanding of security, compliance, and data privacy (e.g., PIPL, GDPR) as they relate to architectural design.
3. Soft Skills
· Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills – able to translate complex technical concepts into business value for C‑level executives.
· Strong facilitation and consensus‑building abilities, capable of aligning diverse IT functions and business units under a unified architectural vision.
· Strategic thinker with a pragmatic, delivery‑oriented mindset – balancing long‑term roadmap with near‑term business needs.
· Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin (spoken and written) to effectively bridge global and local teams.
4. Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; Master’s or MBA is a plus.
· Relevant certifications (TOGAF, Ali/AWS/Azure Solutions Architect) highly regarded.
Here, you will find:
· Community, in which authenticity is embraced, and the strength of our differences fuels our collective spirit
· Culture of empowerment, learning & growth, that offers you the tools, space and opportunity to learn, innovate and lead
· Work that brings fulfillment. From delighting clients every day, to inspiring our industry at large, every action makes a difference
