For the 10th anniversary of the Loro Piana Knit Design Award, the Maison introduces a new theme: Knitting Light – Craft on the Evolution of Colour.
The Loro Piana Knit Design Award recognizes talented international students who share a passion for knitwear. Candidates from the most prestigious fashion design schools are invited to present their creative inspirations around Loro Piana’s renowned fibers.
This year’s edition – called Knitting Light – Craft on the Evolution of Colour – centers on the themes of color and technology. Students are asked to explore the perception of color, along with the transformative power of technology to enhance vibrant hues. Their challenge is to create a convertible silhouette that embodies this transformation.
The jury comprises Loro Piana representatives led by jury president Frédéric Arnault, CEO of the Maison. Winners of the Loro Piana Knit Design Award 2026 receive a scholarship and a job opportunity with the Maison. They will also have a chance to complete their design project alongside artisans at Loro Piana’s long-established yarn and knitwear workshops in Piedmont.
With this new edition, Loro Piana continues to elevate the art of knitting by spurring innovation while encouraging talented young designers to pursue their passion.
