On March 28, Dior and UNESCO organized the latest edition of the Women@Dior & UNESCO Global Conference at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. The event celebrated essential themes including education, equity, inclusion and gender equality.

The ceremony began with a moving performance by the gospel choir Voice2gether, celebrating the power of sisterhood. Leaders from the LVMH Group, Maison Dior and UNESCO spoke at the event, joined by inspiring personalities who advocate for women’s rights and empowerment in a range of areas.

In their opening remarks, Delphine Arnault (President and CEO of Christian Dior Couture, and a member of the LVMH Board of Directors and Executive Committee), Stefania Giannini (UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education) and Olivier Sastre (Deputy Managing Director in charge of Human Resources and Sustainable Development at Christian Dior Couture) shared their visions of women’s empowerment. Isabelle Faggianelli (Vice President Corporate Social Responsibility, Christian Dior Couture) and Borhene Chakroun (Director of Policies and Lifelong Learning Systems Division at UNESCO) reviewed the ambitions of the partnership between UNESCO and Dior, while Marie-Céline Dupuy d’Angeac (President of Christian Dior Couture Europe) and Anne-Valérie Narcy (Director of Dior’s Haute Couture, Women’s Ready-to-Wear, Women’s Shoes and Baby Business Units) shared invaluable insights around the professional success of women.

Prominent guest speakers included Nobel Peace Prize laureat Leymah Gbowee, Gabriela Ramos (Assistant Director-General for Human and Social Sciences of UNESCO) and Caroline Lair (Founder of The Good AI and co-founder of Women in AI) addressed issues reneging from the societal challenge of world peace to new technologies, shining a light on the importance of gender equality. Film producer Virginia Valsecchi brought the insightful exchanges to a close by spotlighting women’s stories in the film industry.

Following these exchanges, a jury chaired by Maria Grazia Chiuri announced the winners of the Dream For Change Project, during which five teams of Mentees presented a concrete project to empower girls in their local communities.
