In conjunction with the International Education Day, proclaimed by the United Nations, the LVMH Group is proud to remind the importance given to education as part of the social responsibility commitments of the Group and its Maisons.
Transmission plays a fundamental role in the Group’s culture and success. LVMH is convinced that education and training enable everyone to discover, orient and develop themselves, and the Group is committed to sharing this conviction with the youngest.
Thus, since 2021 the Group has been running a digital platform for education around the luxury universe, Insidelvmh.com, open to everyone, without any distinction of background or training. More than 260,000 people around the world have benefited from permanent access to over 100 contents designed to help them better understand and grasp the luxury sector and their challenges, discover the different métiers, and careers the Group offers, as well as advice to help them picture themselves into the professional world.
In addition, the Group offers two free annual sessions of the INSIDE LVMH Certificate, featuring a personalized 30-hour training course with exclusive content of learning modules and case studies, awarded with a label. Since its launch, this Certificate has a great international success: over 192,000 people have registered and 78,000 have been certified, benefiting from an excellent program of acculturation to luxury and LVMH, led by both our experts and renowned professors from our partner schools.
LVMH also launched the Institut des Métiers d’Excellence a training program that enables the Group to ensure the transmission of its savoir-faire in different craft, creative and client experience métiers to younger generations, whose employability is thus developed. Since its creation in 2014, more than 2,700 apprentices have joined the ME Institute in France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Japan, Germany, and the United States, in partnership with 33 schools and universities renowned in their respective disciplines.
In France, in 2023, the Group also continued its commitment to equal opportunity, especially in Seine-Saint-Denis, with Clichy-sous-Bois and Montfermeil cities, counting the youngest population in the department. This partnership helps facilitate employment for young people from underprivileged neighborhoods and social inclusion. It is structured around a wide range of initiatives, including “business discovery” internships – available for 150 middle school students in 2023, visits to the Group’s Maisons, support in finding work, Show ME event organized by les Métiers d’Excellence and so on.
In North America, LVMH regularly conducts speed mentoring activities. In 2023, more than 300 high school students from the New York area were invited to discuss topics such as interview basics and career management with Group and Maisons employees.
LVMH also encourages equal opportunity with access to higher education, regardless of social background, family situation or ethnic origins. As a partner of the priority education program run by Institut d’Études Politiques (Sciences Po Paris), LVMH funds scholarships and encourages Group managers to mentor recent graduates of the program.
Initiatives to support education also exist in our Maisons. For example, Maison Dior launched in 2017 Women@Dior, an education and mentoring program dedicated to young female students taking their first steps into the professional world. They have the support of mentors who are employees of Dior, access to exclusive courses, and the “Dream for Change” program within Women@Dior, which also supports mentees in the development of a social impact project, including the promotion of access to education. Students from over 75 partner schools and universities of Dior and the LVMH Group, as well as UNESCO, a partner since 2020, benefit from this program. To date, the program has successfully supported 2,000 young women from over 60 different countries.
