La Beauté Louis Vuitton transforms the Maison’s legacy of travel and savoir-faire into a comprehensive beauty universe. Rooted in heritage, guided by artistry, and designed with precision, the collection embodies Louis Vuitton’s commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and enduring elegance.
Beauty has long been part of Louis Vuitton’s story. As early as the 1920s, the Maison created custom vanity cases and toiletry trunks for figures such as soprano Marthe Chenal and composer Ignacy Jan Paderewski, combining technical precision with elegance and practicality. Powder compacts, brushes, mirrors, and other travel companions became emblematic of the Maison’s ability to combine technical mastery with creativity – a tradition that continues to inspire today’s creations.
La Beauté Louis Vuitton extends this heritage into a contemporary universe where craftsmanship, innovation, and artistry converge. Every aspect of this first comprehensive beauty line reflects the Maison’s meticulous attention to detail and its dedication to excellence. Guiding this this endeavor is Dame Pat McGrath, appointed Creative Director, Cosmetics. Widely regarded as one of the most influential makeup artists in the world, McGrath brings decades of experience in haute couture and runway artistry, transforming her vision into products that balance technical precision with refined aesthetics.
The inaugural collection is a carefully considered ensemble: 55 shades of LV Rouge lipsticks – a deliberate reference to the Roman numeral LV and a nod to Louis Vuitton’s origins as a house of travel and craftsmanship –, ten LV Baumes lip balms, and eight LV Ombres eyeshadow palettes. Each product is enriched with high-quality ingredients – plant-based waxes, shea butter, and hyaluronic acid – offering a sensorial experience that honors the Maison’s commitment to performance and comfort. Beyond color and texture, each lipstick carries a delicate floral signature, composed by Louis Vuitton Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. The scent blends mimosa, jasmine, and rose, creating a subtle, lingering presence that evokes the Maison’s history of refined fragrance creation.
The collection also reflects Louis Vuitton’s heritage of travel: miniature trunks and leather cases accompany the products, echoing the Maison’s historic toiletry trunks and combining functionality with elegance. Design and craftsmanship extend to the collection’s packaging, where industrial designer Konstantin Grcic has reinterpreted the cases and palettes as elegant, refillable objets d’art made of brass and aluminum, minimizing plastic use and ensuring longevity. Every detail – the weight, closure, and tactile sensation – has been carefully considered, creating a sensorial and emotional connection that transforms daily beauty rituals into a celebration of artistry.
By opening this new chapter, Louis Vuitton not only introduces a new product category but positions beauty as an extension of its creative universe: a bridge between heritage and modernity, tradition and innovation. La Beauté Louis Vuitton is a testament to the Maison’s enduring philosophy: luxury is not only about what is created, but also about how it is imagined, crafted, and shared with the world.
