In conjunction with World Expo Osaka Kansai 2025, Louis Vuitton is celebrating 170 years since the founding of the House with an immersive exhibition entitled Visionary Journeys.

The exhibition at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka runs from July 15 to September 17, 2025. This invitation to travel through Louis Vuitton’s creative heritage pays tribute to the unique and enduring cultural dialogue the House has long enjoyed with Japan.

Curated by curator and historian Florence Müller and brought to life in a scenographic experience by Shohei Shigematsu – OMA, Visionary Journeys unfolds across twelve thematic chapters, detailing the House’s evolution through more than 1,000 objects, 200 of them harboring specific resonance with Japan.

The exhibition explores the origins of Louis Vuitton in Asnières and the ingenuity of its first creations such as flat-top trunks and Steamer bags, continuing all the way to the superb excellence of its ateliers today. It spotlights a unique vision of travel, combining utility and elegance, tradition and innovation. An entire section features the deep ties between Louis Vuitton and Japan, illustrated by iconic collaborations with Takashi Murakami, Yayoi Kusama, Rei Kawakubo and NIGO® that celebrate artistic dialogue and a shared legacy of craftsmanship.

Visitors also enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at the ateliers, including bespoke trunks for Louis Vuitton ambassador and artist Sho Hirano and Osaka-born designer Verdy, along with exclusive content from the Asnières workshop.
