LVMH and Fondazione Bvlgari reveal the winners of the fourth edition of the Premio Maestri d’Eccellenza, honoring Italian craftsmanship, organized by Métiers d’Excellence LVMH.

LVMH, together with Confartigianato Imprese, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and Fondazione Bvlgari, announced the 4 winners of the fourth edition of the Premio Maestri d’Eccellenza, an initiative of Métiers d’Excellence LVMH aimed at safeguarding and celebrating the value of the Made in Italy artisans. Thanks to the collaboration with Fondazione Bvlgari, the award ceremony took place at the Bvlgari Hotel Roma.

The Premio Maestri d’Eccellenza, supported by Métiers d’Excellence LVMH, is the first award for Italian artisans that aims to raise awareness of the importance of preserving craftsmanship and the unique skills of this country. The Premio recognizes artisans in three different categories: experienced artisans who have distinguished themselves for the quality of their work throughout their professional career; emerging talents with a promising project; and professionals who have distinguished themselves for their capacity to innovate, preserving historical savoir-faire and skills and reinterpreting them in a modern way.

The Premio provides a platform for Italy’s artisans, who passionately uphold their craft on a daily basis, giving essential recognition to their contributions to Made in Italy. This year, the Premio Maestri d’Eccellenza is under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, strengthened by the presence of the Minister Adolfo Urso at the event.

 The winners of the 2026 edition

• Maestro Artigiano d’Eccellenza – Carlo Colombo (Tessitura la Colombina)
  Savoir-faire: textile art

Carlo, together with Mario, is co-owner of Tessitura Colombina: a company passed down through four generations that combines innovation with tradition. Founded in 1895 as a silk mill, it evolved over time, expanding in 1948 into handweaving, accessories, and eventually knitwear. The essence of the company lies in preserving a unique savoir-faire.

• Maestro Emergente Artigiano d’Eccellenza – Lorenzo Seghezzi
  Savoir-faire: contemporary tailoring

Founded in Milan in 2021, Lorenzo Seghezzi’s brand redefines contemporary tailoring through an unwavering dedication to fine craftsmanship, placing corsetry at the heart of its identity. Each creation is the result of extensive technical research and meticulous handcraftsmanship, where the corset, reinterpreted with exceptional artistry, evolves into a statement of self-expression and self-determination.

• Maestro dell’Innovazione d’Eccellenza – Mirei Monticelli
  Savoir-faire: light sculptures and installations

Mirei Monticelli creates illuminated sculptures and installations in banaca, a natural fiber derived from abaca. Her work stems from a dual-origin production process: banaca takes shape in the Philippines, where her mother, a fashion designer, collaborates with a community of weavers, and is completed in Italy, in her studio, where she designs and sculpts each piece.

Each of the winners will be awarded:

• €10,000, to be awarded by Métiers d’Excellence LVMH and reinvested in the recipient’s business;
• Media exposure through articles;
• Up to 3 mentoring sessions with professionals from Bvlgari Group, on topics and schedules to be agreed with the Maison;
• Dedicated visits to Maison Bvlgari production sites, according to arrangements and schedules to be communicated later by the Maison.
   

Furthermore, at the request of the jury, a fourth prize was awarded to Daniel Mauceri (Arte Pupara dal 1978), who received a special mention in the 2026 Premio Maestri d’Eccellenza.

Daniel Mauceri grew up in the historic Vaccaro-Mauceri family, custodians of the Syracuse Opera dei Pupi tradition for three generations, where he creates and restores puppets, papier-mâché sacred statues, and jewelry inspired by the decorative motifs of traditional armor. His workshop also serves as theatre, museum and educational space. Each piece is crafted using ancient techniques – repoussé, chasing, sculpting and tailoring – reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.

This year, each of the nine finalist artisans is featured in an exclusive podcast-style audio, available on Spotify. Through the artisan’s own voice, each episode tells the story behind the work and explores the creative and craftsmanship process that brought it to life.
