Maison Francis Kurkdjian is hosting the exhibition Expanded Drops in its historic boutique at 5 rue d’Alger in Paris, featuring photographs by Swiss-Canadian photographer Christelle Boulé.

Born from Francis Kurkdjian’s interest in the work of the photographer and Christelle Boulé’s passion for perfume, the exhibition presents original photographic prints made from the Maison’s fragrance creations.

The photographer used a special process that entails a few drops of perfume placed on silver halide paper, revealing abstract and poetic photographs that become veritable visual portraits of an olfactory imprint. A selection of eight photographs representing Aqua Universalis, Petit Matin, Baccarat Rouge 540, À la rose, Gentle Fluidity Gold Edition, OUD satin mood, Grand Soir and Fendi Frenesia Yellow are available for sale in a limited series signed by the photographer.

“I had the idea of putting a few drops of perfume on silver photographic paper. An image appeared, and I had succeeded in developing the imprint of a perfume,” says Christelle Boulé.
