Six Belmond properties recognized by The 50 Best Hotels 2026

Six Belmond properties have been recognized in the 2026 edition of The 50 Best Hotels 2026, spanning destinations from Rio de Janeiro and Cape Town to Mexico’s Riviera Maya. Copacabana Palace ranks 29th worldwide, followed by Mount Nelson in Cape Town at No. 34 and Maroma on the Riviera Maya at No. 47. Three further Belmond properties feature on the extended list, which includes hotels ranked from 51st to 100th.

Together, the six properties reflect the breadth of the Belmond collection and the character of the places in which they are found. In Rio de Janeiro, Copacabana Palace is deeply woven into the city’s history. In Cape Town, Mount Nelson offers a distinctive expression of Belmond hospitality, while Maroma is immersed in the landscapes of the Riviera Maya. Hotel das Cataratas in Brazil, Splendido in Portofino and Palacio Nazarenas in Cusco complete the selection.

The 50 Best Hotels 2026 ranking is based on the votes of more than 800 independent experts from the international hospitality industry, including hoteliers, journalists, educators and experienced travelers. The fourth edition was unveiled in Paris for the first time, with hotels from all six continents represented.
