The Opportunity:
As a Merchandise Planner, you will manage Brand Planning for both pre-season and in season timeframes to ensure in stock targets are met. Reporting to the Manager, Merchandise Planning, you will be the financial partner with the Merchant to grow and drive business.
- Brand Budget Planning (10%) – Partner with Inventory Directors, Merchants, and Vendors to create pre-season budget plans.
- New Brand Strategy Development (20%) – Establish projected sales, SKU-level inventory needs, and order flow setups for successful brand launches.
- Open to Buy (OTB) Management (20%) – Own monthly OTB projections, reconciling sales and receipts to Replenishment/Demand Planning forecasts. Present findings in cross-functional meetings.
- Demand Planning Collaboration (5%) – Align forecasts and strategy with the Demand Planning team.
- Merchandise Planning Support (5%) – Guide Planning Assistants in prioritizing important orders, escalating delays in key launches.
- Analytics & Performance Tracking (15%) – Analyze sales and inventory needs for Key Initiatives, Animations, and Promotions. Conduct seasonal hindsight analysis on newness.
- Liquidation Strategy (5%) – Develop strategies for exit brands, collections, and overstock management.
- Vendor Communication (10%) – Maintain consistent communication on sales performance, stock levels, and outstanding issues.
- Assortment Validation (10%) – Assess presentation effectiveness, recommend discontinuations and new developments, and ensure compliance with productivity guidelines in collaboration with Merchandising.

- 5+ years of Planning experience
- Excellent technical skills – MS Office (specifically Excel, Word)
- Contributes new ideas and finds solutions to business challenges in merchandising, operations and finance
- Proven ability to interpret and synthesize data into intelligent business decisions
- Must be detail-oriented, with strong organizational and task management skills
- Clear and concise written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Good negotiation skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills; able to handle multiple priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, often-changing environment

The annual base salary range for this position is $99,790.00 - $111,530.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
