YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is responsible for the buying, sales performance and strategy execution for Women’s Leathergoods and Haute Parfumerie, driving seasonal assortment planning and business growth across the North American retail and digital network (U.S. & Canada).

Your impact

  • Own the preparation and analysis of all sales reports and performance tools ahead of each buying session, ensuring data-driven decision-making
  • Define and drive the store-by-store SKU assortment strategy, in partnership with the Merchandising Director, leveraging sales insights, market trends, and global/regional priorities
  • Oversee and validate order entry with full accountability for accuracy, timing, and alignment to the buying calendar
  • Act as a key business partner to cross-functional teams (Visual Merchandising, Supply Chain, CRM, Training, Sales Planning, Digital) to ensure seamless execution of the merchandising strategy and maximize market opportunities
  • Take ownership of sales performance, monitoring daily and weekly results, and leading proactive in-season actions to exceed sales and sell-through objectives while protecting profitability
  • Collaborate with store teams to deepen product knowledge, identify local market needs and opportunities, and influence future product launches
  • Communicate assortment strategies effectively across the retail network to ensure alignment and understanding
  • Manage inventory in line with the assortment strategy, seasonal priorities, and local events (i.e. out-of-network events)
  • Lead merchandise optimization, overseeing consolidations and inter-store transfers in collaboration with the Supply Chain team to drive productivity and minimize sleeping stock
  • Continuously build market intelligence through competitor benchmarking, product analysis, and pricing studies to inform strategic decisions
  • Partner with Sales Planning and Finance teams to define sales plans, forecasts, and OTB management
  • Collaborate closely with Worldwide Merchandising and Product teams to share feedback and support strategic developments for the Americas market
  • Supervise and develop one direct report (Merchandising Trainee), fostering accountability, growth, and high performance

 

Profile

Keys for success

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 5–7 years of experience in Fashion or Luxury Buying
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and synthesis skills
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of regional market dynamics
  • Significant exposure to store environments and regional operations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Minimum of 2 years of people management experience (1+ direct report)
  • Proven ability to coach, motivate, and provide constructive feedback
  • Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally

The compensation for this position ranges from $115,000- $130,000 annually. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience. In addition, there is a bonus opportunity, and a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, various paid time off programs, employee discount/perks, and a retirement plan with employer contribution
