We're thrilled to announce the opening for Senior Accountant, General Ledger, reporting to Manager, General Ledger. As the Senior Accountant, General Ledger, You will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial records and supporting the integrity of the General Ledger. You will be responsible for managing month-end closing, preparing journal entries, and performing balance sheet reconciliations. By collaborating with cross-functional teams and maintaining strong controls, you will ensure timely and reliable financial reporting. Your contribution will support sound financial management and decision-making across the organization.

This is 12 Months Contract.

How you will contribute…

Overview of the position

The role of a GL accountant involves managing a company's financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing accurate financial data to help guide business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Journal Entries and Reconciliations: Preparing and posting journal entries, as well as preparing and reconciling balance sheets.
  • Period Close Activities: Conducting variance analysis, performing period-close activities, and generating related reports. This also involves ensuring timely and smooth monthly account closings and identifying unusual transactions or account movements.
  • Ledger Management: Preparing and reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Fixed Assets Management: Managing fixed assets.
  • Audit Management: Overseeing financial audits and the preparation of audit reports.
  • Project Support: Participating in ad hoc projects, which may include User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Change Management: Supporting in-market change management communication and engaging with stakeholders.
  • Other GL Matters: Handling various other general ledger-related tasks.

Experience:

  • Over 5-7 years of accounting experience, ideally gained within US or European multinational corporations.
  • Preference for candidates with a strong background in General Ledger (GL) and experience in organizations with complex structures and multicultural business environments.

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting standards (IFRS) is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP ECC, Excel macros, and Power BI would be an advantage.

Personal Attributes & Soft Skills:

  • Highly motivated, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and initiative.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage diverse stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Possesses a hands-on, meticulous approach to work.
  • Adept at working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Capable of efficiently managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Educational Background: A university degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred.
