Position

The Planner, Macy’s plays a pivotal role in driving sales performance and optimizing inventory for beauty products at the retailor. This involves comprehensive sales planning, in-depth performance analysis, and accurate forecasting, all while ensuring optimal stock levels through strategic inventory and order management. The role demands strong cross-functional collaboration with merchandising, marketing, and operations teams to align business goals, manage new product introductions, and support promotional activities, further requiring adept system and data management, and clear communication with the sales force.

Job responsibilities

Sales Planning & Performance Analysis

  • Develop and maintain sales plans by category.
  • Analyze weekly sales performance, including retail sales recaps and sales projections, collaborating with the Key Account Director.
  • Track and monitor sales against targets (YTG Sales tracker, Simplifield).
  • Maintain and update the Mix of Business with relevant market information.
  • Review and interpret sales reports and operational updates from MACYS portal and Dior BI, comparing data between systems.
  • Create and maintain reporting for door productivity tiers.
  • Track and monitor product/category rankings and the effectiveness of MACYS promotional activities.
  • Regularly prepare reports summarizing key insights, performance metrics, and recommendations, including maintaining and comparing MACYS Door Reports to internal data.

Inventory & Order Management

  • Develop and implement inventory strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize excess, and ensure product availability.
  • Manage weekly order processes, including reviewing replenishment reports, releasing orders, and adhering to ship deadlines.
  • Maintain the purchase order (PO) log and conduct daily checks on POs managed by Customer Service.
  • Generate and review reports for cut-from-inventory items, coordinating rebooking efforts.
  • Manage shipment files, tracking net shipments and returns.
  • Liaise weekly with MACYS IA regarding stock levels and discontinued items.

Forecasting & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Utilize historical sales data, market trends, and other factors to forecast future sales for beauty products and categories.
  • Evaluate and adjust forecast accuracy to align with actual sales performance and inventory levels.
  • Conduct stock analysis reviews, summarize findings, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to secure needed stock.
  • Collaborate with merchandising teams on assortment planning, determining the appropriate product mix based on customer preferences, market trends, and sales data.
  • Manage tasks related to launches, visual merchandising, and quarterly planning.
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams on new product introductions, including providing product information, allocation selection, pricing, and promotional strategies.
  • Communicate with Retailer FC teams to ensure product availability and manage new product launch activities.
  • Generate and review allocation reports.
  • Set up tasks for new MACYS items within the PIM system, working with cross-functional teams for completion.
  • Update promotional calendars and liaise with trade marketing to ensure business needs are communicated and supported by allocations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (merchandising, marketing, operations) to align business goals and drive cohesive execution.

System & Data Management

  • Manage tasks and activities within the Simplifield system.
  • Maintain comprehensive summaries including space and location details (planograms for fragrance/beauty), merchandising designations, opening dates, promotional changes, and event results.

Sales Force Support & Communication

  • Act as a key point of contact for the sales force, providing service and communication.
  • Communicate all launch details, marketing initiatives, merchandising guidelines, and shipping information to the field.
  • Address inquiries from the field regarding shipping, marketing, and retailer-related matters.

Profile

  • 5+ years of experience with planning and execution of retail events and programs to drive sell-through and sell-in; MACYS Beauty retailer experience preferred
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of leading beauty and fragrance brands
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Heightened sense of urgency
  • Deadline oriented, strong organizational skills
  • Strong understanding of merchandising to sales
  • Knowledge of and passion for Dior brand required
  • Travel required per business needs

While the published salary range is a good faith reflection of the targeted salary level for the position, LVMH Inc. reserves the right to pay outside of the published range of $95,000-105,000.
