Position
Guerlain (Japan)is looking for Area Manager who will be in charge of developing sales on his/her territory (Japan Travel Retail), on both the sell-in and the sell-out aspects along leading all key negotiations.
He/She will also be in charge of running the TR Japan Business unit in line with LVMH Beauty guidelines and TR APAC Regional office, and located in Tokyo.
Meeting with buyers, planning orders, activities, budgets for each year. Visiting store to verify the proper implementation of the plan, to provide training & implement the trade Marketing within the shops.
Job responsibilities
Commercial Focus:
- JAPAN: 8 accounts and 18 POS including 6 E-TR POS
- Drive the development of sales and the brand equity by achieving sales, market share, and growth and profitability targets for Guerlain in the region.
- Ensure the brand plans are being implemented within corporate guidelines and to ensure the highest standards of operational excellence to protect integrity of the brand while driving growth.
- Provide the highest level of service to key clients in order to build strong and lasting relationships with Travel Retail players.
- Identify actions and new opportunities for profitable growth in key doors
- Negotiating trade terms, space & location, assortment and pricing
- Negotiate and ensure all legal contracts are signed and T&C mapping is constantly accurate
- Provide monthly sell out reports and market insights
Profile
P&L Responsibility:
- Full ownership of the P&L, preparation, presentation to top management and monthly expenses and profitability review
- Managing and analyzing P&L and profit center, defining sell in/sell out targets
- Take accountability for customer P&L and sell-in/ sell-out target achievements
- Set-up bi-annual retailer budget and align with brand investment plan and commit to share KPIs
Management:
- Manage the team (currently 3 in Tokyo) + 30 retail Drive retailer insights, work side-by-side with retailer on strategic projects and cross regional developments on PRCs consumers, Japan 3YP
- Develop long term, strategic relationships with accounts
Marketing, Merchandising & Retail:
- Ensuring to implement and reclaim the 3-Axis Beauty positioning in your region in line with product strategy
- Elevate our game in the store: execution and visibility are the priority & being more demanding
- Ensuring the execution of all touch points of 360 launch plans (training, trade plan, incentives, media) and strong review on new launches performance
- Proposing and implementing a detailed sales/marketing plan per customer
- Marketing in store activation plan: development of retailtainment strategy
- Monitor competitive activity and trends in markets, customers, products, prices, and channels
- Be a key player and driver within your team for the roll-out of the consumer centric approach and the Guerlain Retail academy to foster retail excellence
E-Retail:
- Ensure the E-Retail strategy is rolled out complying with Guerlain HQ processes
- Coordinate between internal departments, Retailer and agency for campaign executions and ensure on-time content development.
- Assist coordination & follow up of Digital activations (eg, social media posts on eRetailer social channels) frontline staff
- Constantly review motivator factors & Team recruitment, training and management
- Ensure brand excitement and proper DNA transmission
- Grow key profiles within the team for future team expansion in all departments: digital, merch, mkt, retail, training
- Accompany your teams through coaching and training, while ensuring the continuous development of their individual and collective skills
- Develop strong connection with Guerlain JAPAN LM and ASIA Regional Team for cooperation
- Lead the sustainability step-change and discussion within your team
Distribution:
- Define your country selective & productive distribution strategy
- Design your country roll-out for the new Guerlain retail Identity

Recruitment process
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelor degree above
- 8 years retail working experience including P&C
- Fluent in English and Japanese. Mandarin could be a plus.
Good at Microsoft office, including Word, Excel PowerPoint, Power BI etc
