WINES AND SPIRITS

Inauguration of Hennessy Pont Neuf site by Hennessy
Following two years of work, Hennessy inaugurated its new Pont Neuf cognac bottling and logistics site on October 18 with a ceremony attended by Bernard Arnault, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LVMH, Philippe Schaus, Chief Executive Officer of Moët Hennessy, Bernard Peillon, President of Hennessy and Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs. This major development gives fresh impetus to Hennessy as Renaud Fillioux de Gironde becomes Master Blender, the eighth generation of the Fillioux family to hold the position.

Acquisitions of Woodinville and Colgin Cellars
Woodinville Whiskey Company, a distillery renowned for its craft whiskies, sold exclusively in Washington State, joined Moët Hennessy’s prestigious wines and spirits portfolio in July 2017.
In November 2017, the Colgin Cellars winery located at the northern end of IX Estate in the Pritchard Hill area of Napa Valley joined the LVMH Group.

Launch of Clos19
Launched by Moët Hennessy in April 2017, Clos19 is the first e-commerce platform dedicated entirely to the champagnes, wines and spirits of the LVMH Group. With a resolutely contemporary approach to the art of hosting, Clos19 offers consumers unique services and exceptional experiences. After the UK and Germany, Clos19 continued to expand in the United States, supported by the “Bring Them In” campaign created by the U.S. agency Droga5.

FASHION AND LEATHER GOODS

70th anniversary of Maison Christian Dior
Maison Christian Dior celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2017, presenting the exhibition “Christian Dior, Designer of Dreams” at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, 30 years after the previous Dior retrospective at the same museum. For the first time, a selection of more than 300 haute couture gowns is displayed alongside toiles from the atelier, fashion photos and illustrations, exploring the close ties between the Maison and the world of art.

Opening of Maison Louis Vuitton Vendôme
Two private mansions have been combined to create the Maison Louis Vuitton on Place Vendôme, just a few streets from where the young Louis Vuitton learned his craft and opened his first store in 1854. The store offers the full array of Louis Vuitton savoir-faire – travel accessories and luggage, ready-to-wear, jewelry, watches, leather goods, shoes, fragrances, accessories, the Objets Nomades collection, plus artisanal workshops.

RIMOWA celebrates 80th anniversary of iconic aluminum suitcase
RIMOWA celebrated the 80th anniversary of its aluminum suitcase, now a travel icon. Instantly recognizable and exceptionally durable, RIMOWA luggage melds craftsmanship and high-tech for impeccable quality and timeless elegant design.

PERFUMES AND COSMETICS

Launch of Mon Guerlain
Created for a strong, free and sensual woman, embodied by Angelina Jolie, Mon Guerlain is a tribute to Guerlain’s fragrance expertise. A four-part harmony by Guerlain Master Perfumer Thierry Wasser and perfumer Delphine Jelk, the fragrance also reprises the celebrated quadrilobe bottle designed by Gabriel Guerlain en 1908. Angelina Jolie is the face of the fragrance in the advertising film shot by Terrence Malick.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian joins LVMH Group
Motivated by their shared vision of creativity and excellence, Maison Francis Kurkdjian and LVMH decided to join forces to pursue the long-term development of the fragrance house together. Founded in 2009, Maison Francis Kurkdjian offers a collection conceived as a “fragrance wardrobe”, designed in the purest tradition of French perfumery.

Rihanna launches Fenty Beauty exclusively at Sephora
Developed in collaboration with Kendo, the LVMH Group incubator for beauty brands, Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is a makeup line designed for women of all shades. Available exclusively at Sephora and on the beauty retailer’s website, the 91 products in the range were unveiled simultaneously at 1,600 Sephora stores in 17 countries in September 2017.

WATCHES AND JEWELRY

New Bulgari jewelry manufacture
Bridging tradition and innovation, the new Bulgari jewelry manifattura in Valenza, Italy joins the Maison’s network of Italian facilities where all its jewelry creations are crafted. Designed by Open Project, the site was built using innovative technologies and materials with low environmental impact to seamlessly integrate the surrounding environment.

Zenith Defy Lab, the world’s most accurate mechanical watch
Embodying Zenith’s constant drive for innovation and high precision, the Defy Lab watch marks a major advance in measuring time. With a groundbreaking oscillator that challenges the fundamental operating principle of mechanical watches, the Defy Lab won the Innovation Prize at the prestigious Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in November 2017.

Chaumet Imperial Splendours exhibition in Beijing
The Chaumet exhibition, which featured the Maison’s extraordinary heritage, historic jewels, drawings and archive documents, was held in a fittingly majestic setting, the Palace Museum in the Forbidden City in Beijing. Through a selection of works belonging to the Palace Museum, the exhibition created a dialogue between Chinese and French jewelry arts.

SELECTIVE RETAILING AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

24 Sèvres launches
Referencing its iconic Paris address at 24 rue de Sèvres, Le Bon Marché launched an entirely new online shopping experience with the 24 Sèvres digital platform, offering a carefully curated selection, cutting-edge virtual displays and high-end customer service. The launch was accompanied by a short film entitled “Where Fashion Comes to Life”, directed by Nicolas Winding Refn.

La Grande Epicerie opens on Right Bank
The celebrated Left Bank gourmet food emporium was joined by La Grande Epicerie de Paris Rive Droite, a Right Bank sister store on rue de Passy in the chic Paris 16th arrondissement.  A feast for the eyes as well as the taste, this new must address for fine foods offers some 30,000 different products, as well as a restaurant helmed by chef Beatriz Gonzalez.

New Sephora connected stores
Following successful tests at pilot stores in Nantes and the Val d’Europe mall near Paris, Sephora rolled out its “New Sephora Experience” connected store concept in Spain, opening flagships in Madrid and Barcelona. The concept reinvents the customer experience with the Beauty Hub and its connected mirrors, introducing an exciting new approach to shopping and testing products.

The Jardin d’Acclimatation reinvents itself
The Jardin d’Acclimatation presented a major renovation program centered on four priorities: bring visitors a contemporary and attractive leisure experience, restore the park’s unique architectural heritage, revisit the landscaping and offer a rich array of services. Rendezvous in May 2018 to discover the new look Jardin d’Acclimatation!
