LVMH celebrated the 25th anniversary of its Environment Department on September 20th with a special event that brought together CEOs of LVMH Maisons and the community of environment experts who make environmental excellence a day-to-day priority across LVMH and its Maisons. Highlights from an exceptional evening celebrating 25 years of commitment to sustainable development.

Opening remarks by Bernard Arnault, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LVMH, presentations by a dozen heads of Group Maisons – including  Michael Burke (Louis Vuitton), Chris de Lapuente (Sephora) and Philippe Schaus (DFS) –  detailing their commitments to achieve the four objectives in the LIFE 2020 program, plus talks by guest speakers Bertrand Piccard, Initiator & Chairman of the Solar Impulse Foundation, and Tony Estanguet, Paris 2024 Olympic Bid Committee co-Chairman… The Future LIFE event spotlighted pioneering initiatives by LVMH and the priority that sustainable development has played in the strategy of the Group and each of its Maisons.

“By integrating ecological imperatives as a source of innovation we have long made environmental responsibility a growth driver. The LVMH Group is proud of its pioneering role over the past 25 years and we are committed to remaining a leader,” said Bernard Arnault, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LVMH.

During the event LVMH also announced that it would double the size of its carbon fund in 2018, targeting a 25% reduction in CO2 emissions by the Group and its Maisons by 2020.
