29th Hyères Festival kicks off
The 29th Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography comes to the Villa Noailles this weekend. The co-presidents of this year’s jury are Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, the design duo behind the vibrant renewal of Kenzo.
Since becoming Creative Directors of the House in 2011, the talented tandem has brought back the trailblazing, offbeat spirit that sparked Kenzo’s original success, proposing fun, design-led clothing where spontaneity rules. Committed to making the brand relevant for today, they have brought this same sensitivity to their selection of designers for this year’s Hyères Festival.
“Fashion has and always will be one of the easiest ways people can express themselves. We love drawing inspiration from everything around us: culture, art, music, food, travel, and from seeing what people are wearing on the streets. Today’s fashion, the product of a more connected world, is extremely relevant for what Kenzo stands for today.”
Joined by a prestigious and eclectic jury of personalities from the worlds of fashion and the arts, Carol and Humberto will have the difficult task of choosing the Grand Prix winner from among the 10 shortlisted finalists. The duo excels in exciting challenges like this, having revealed talents from around the world with Opening Ceremony, the ultra-edgy multibrand New York retail concept they founded in 2002.
