Alexander Wang reimagines iconic Bvgari Serpenti Forever bag with exclusive capsule collection

Bvlgari unveiled the fruit of its collaboration with American fashion designer Alexander Wang, who presented his urban chic vision of the jewelry house’s icon of glamour, the Serpenti Forever bag, during New York Fashion Week.

In 2017 Bvlgari launched the “Serpenti Through the Eyes Of” series, inviting designers to reinterpret its iconic Serpenti bag. For 2019, Californian fashion designer Alexander Wang was invited to propose his fresh vision of the Maison’s iconic Serpenti Forever model.

Known for his high-low style melding relaxed pieces and sophisticated creations, Alexander Wang shook up the codes of traditional luxury leather goods for his collection of handbags.

Drawing inspiration from packaging components such as paper shopping bags, the designer unites a mix of traditional silhouettes and innovative shapes. The leather pieces are elevated by serpent head jewels inspired by a vintage Bvlgari model from the 1950s, referencing the heritage of the celebrated jewelry maker.

This powerful collaboration spawned a collection of six bags, each available in different sizes and materials, from leather in a color palette of white, black and mint green, to natural python skin and shiny lizard.
