Baselworld, the temple of timekeeping

Watches & Jewelry

·

Baselworld, the watch and jewelry industry’s annual showcase, took place this year from March 27 to April 3 in Basel, Switzerland. The industry’s biggest and most prestigious event since its creation in 1917, Baselworld offers a unique vision of the global timepiece offering in 12 exhibition halls covering nearly 141,000 square meters of exhibition space.

During the seven days of this B2B event, more than 100,000 visitors from 100 countries come to take the pulse of a sector that weighed in at nearly 200 billion euros in 2012. Basel is nothing short of a must for the 1,460 exhibitors who set up their booths: some brands generate nearly 80% of their annual sales during the show.

Baselworld is a unique crossroads that brings together all the players in watches and jewelry, providing an unfailing barometer of trends in the sector. It is also the ultimate opportunity for quality time to talk business—retailers get exclusive looks at new models and place their orders during face-to-face meetings. Teams from LVMH companies deployed their full energies to bring their guests and contacts a unique, personalized experience.

While LVMH companies have their own retail networks, those attending Baselworld are unanimous in recognizing the importance of a high-profile presence at the show. Bulgari, Hublot, TAG Heuer and Zenith all have amazing booths in the very select Hall 1, providing plush settings to unveil their latest creations to discerning visitors. The booths are true gems of architecture and elegant design, each reflecting the creativity, sophistication and DNA of their respective Houses.
