Bodega Numanthia and Loewe create unique wine barrel

·

Bodega Numanthia and Loewe, two Maisons rooted in Spanish heritage, have combined their expertise to create a unique barrel of Termanthia, the Estate’s iconic wine. A core symbol of traditional winemaking savoir-faire, the barrel has been reinterpreted by the two LVMH Maisons to create a collector’s piece with a bold and innovative style.

The Bodega Numanthia estate, located in Valdefinjas, Castile and León, is renowned for its powerful and intense wines, emblematic of the prestigious Toro designation of origin. It is from this terroir that Termanthia wine has been crafted, from 140-year-old vines, a wine with unmistakable intensity of fruit, elegance and complexity.

In a tribute to the craftsmanship and excellence that define the two Maisons, this 225-litre barrel – the equivalent of 300 75cl bottles – is made from French oak wood and covered in Loewe leather.

Available only on demand and delivered from December 2018, each barrel can be personalized with a selection of five different tints of Loewe calf leather. The owner’s initials will be marked on the barrel using leather marquetry, a technique requiring extreme precision.  The barrel will be delivered with the 2016 Termanthia, Bodega Numanthia’s finest wine, bottled in 75cl, magnum (150cl), jeroboam (5-litre) or balthazar (12-litre) formats, according to the preference of the future owner.
