Dior unveiled its new high jewelry collection by Victoire de Castellane, Creative Director of Dior Joaillerie, at the beginning of July. Dubbed “Cher Dior”, the new line echoes the previous “Dear Dior” collection, inspired by an imagined dialogue with the couturier. Victoire de Castellane exquisitely interprets a value dear to Christian Dior: color.

“Cher Dior” counts 21 pieces, all with an intimate spirit and ethereal refinement. The subtle working of  precious stones reveals a delicate palette, a perfect marriage between the sparkling brilliance of diamonds and the radiant shine of rubies, sapphires, emeralds and garnet. Each jewel is a veritable explosion of color.

“Cher Dior” is a tetralogy comprising the “Exquise” rings and earrings, the “Etincelante” ring, “Majestueuse” jewels and “Fascinante” pieces. Each series has a motif with interpretations around a defining gemstone: diamond (white, yellow or pastel), pink sapphire, emerald or ruby.

Victoire de Castellane brings a delicious touch of fantasy to her creations. The back of each piece reproduces embroidered lacework emblematic of Maison Dior. The yellow or white gold of the settings is finely wrought to reproduce the motif. This meticulous craftsmanship is a tribute to the expertise of the applied arts artisans in Dior’s workshops.
