“Inspire to Action” was the theme of the first EllesVMH Awards, which recognize the most innovative initiatives that empower women. The high-profile event at LVMH spurred tremendous enthusiasm and dialogue, opening fresh paths to progress.

A full agenda revolved around four key moments:

  • Neurobiologist Catherine Vidal opened the event with a discussion of differences between men and women from a scientific perspective.
  • Ten LVMH Maisons selected as finalists for the EllesVMH Awards pitched their ideas.
  • A round table moderated by Sian Westerman, Senior Advisor, Rothschild Group, brought together Sarah Ourahmoune, Olympic Boxing Silver Medalist in Rio, Gimena Diaz, Executive Director for Strategy and Fundraising, UN Women France Committee, and Morin Oluwole, Luxury Vertical Lead, Facebook & Instagram. The panelists shared their visions of women today, talking about their careers, their successes and their convictions.
  • The awards were presented by Chantal Gaemperle, LVMH Group Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Synergies, joined by multiple Olympic and World Championship fencing medalist Laura Flessel-Colovic.

The winners of the EllesVMH Awards were Loro Piana, which received the Jury Prize for its initiative on “Going beyond stereotypes”, and Moët et Chandon / Veuve Clicquot, which received the Special Public Prize for an initiative on “Opening new horizons for women”. The awards ceremony was followed by an afternoon exhibition presenting initiatives by LVMH Maisons, along with round table discussions led by two or three panelists from different Houses.
