Hublot: luminous innovations for Watches and Wonders

Watches & Jewelry

·

To mark Watches and Wonders week, Hublot is presenting an array of new timepieces, each one a feat of technology. The Maison’s signature Art of Fusion is clear for all to see in the Big Bang Integral Tourbillon Full Sapphire, Big Bang Unico Yellow Magic and Big Bang Sang Bleu II – sculptural new designs for a Manufacture at the cutting edge.

Once again, Hublot brings its pioneering spirit to watchmaking and reinvents ceramic with the Big Bang Unico Yellow Magic. Yellow may be a primary color, and one that is easy to spot in nature, but recreating its bold, vibrant shade in ceramic requires an exceptional level of innovation and technical expertise. Now, however, Hublot is presenting the first watch in bright yellow ceramic, reinventing the material in a perfect fusion of aesthetics and technology. The design is solar and upbeat, with light at its heart. Offered as a limited edition of 250 pieces, this timepiece features a yellow rubber strap and a sapphire dial with a Unico manufacture movement, Arabic numerals and vivid yellow hands. With its on-trend, eye-popping style, the Big Bang Unico Yellow Magic will make you look on the bright side of life!

Other new pieces are the result of the ongoing collaboration between Hublot and Sang Bleu. The creative partnership presents a ceramic trio: three limited-edition Big Bang watches which explore new chromatic territory. The Big Bang Sang Bleu II by the tattoo artist Maxime Plescia-Buchi and Hublot is a complex, creative design faceted like a diamond. The case, bezel, case middle, strap and dial are constructed with their own geometry, yet come together with seamless fluidity. The new Big Bang Sang Bleu II timepieces are offered in three colors, each limited to 200 pieces. Blue – a nod to “sang bleu” – is a perfect fusion of light and shade, while gray lends the model a resolutely modern, urban vibe. Finally, white – the most luminous of the trio – reveals the design with perfect clarity. Hublot again takes us by surprise with this latest feat of color technology and watchmaking architecture, with each new shade forcefully underlining the profoundly architectural dimension of the Big Bang Sang Bleu II.

Hublot is once again pushing the boundaries and offering an exceptional new series with the Big Bang Integral Tourbillon Full Sapphire: the first Big Bang with an integrated case and bracelet, both of which are crafted from sapphire. A natural (r)evolution and a highly technical feat in equal measure, with which Hublot is restating its extraordinary savoir-faire. The model was designed to house an automatic tourbillon movement and to let light into the heart of the case. The Maison played with transparency by reworking the bridges and main plates to give them the illusion of being suspended in space. And – despite the fact that the bracelet comprises 165 components – each one was individually developed, with a third of them specifically designed to create a unique harmony with the transparency of the case, as well as providing fluidity and flexibility. Furthermore, Hublot developed ultra-reduced titanium inserts in order to take the aesthetics of the design to extremes of perfection. Light enters the Big Bang Integral Tourbillon Full Sapphire from all directions, illuminating the beauty of each individual element.

Lastly, every year for the past 14 years, Hublot has created a piece or a collection of exceptional High Jewelry. This year, the Big Bang Integral Tourbillon High Jewellery is the Manufacture’s 30th such unique piece, representing by itself the absolute quintessence of Hublot’s identity.  The watchmaker has combined an emblematic design and its complications with the most spectacular setting techniques. A true one-off, the Big Bang Integral Tourbillon High Jewellery is set with 484 baguette-cut diamonds, amounting to 31 carats. The aesthetic and technical mastery of this timepiece goes all the way to the sapphire dial, which reveals the automatic tourbillon movement. Pushing the limits once again with this dazzling demonstration of its savoir-faire, Hublot plays with transparency to create a sense that the components of this exceptional jewel are levitating. Automatic rewinding, a micro-rotor that is visible on the dial side and three transparent sapphire bridges are combined in a movement that was entirely designed and manufactured in-house. The Big Bang Integral Tourbillon High Jewellery is a fusion of the Manufacture’s innovation and know-how with High Jewelry in a single piece, all in perfect balance.
