LVMH 2014 Committed Houses Dinner

The LVMH Group organized its second annual Committed Houses dinner on November 20. The event, which celebrates the Group’s commitment to exemplary social responsibility, welcomed 250 guests invited by 23 LVMH Houses.

“Although their actions are sometimes not widely publicized, LVMH Houses provide very significant support for social solidarity initiatives, working with associations and foundations in France and around the world,” said Group Managing Director Toni Belloni, welcoming guests to the evening at the Palais Brongniart in Paris. This human dimension is actively supported by the CEOs of LVMH Houses, who champion a socially-engaged vision of excellence.

LVMH and its Houses once again demonstrated this solidarity by using the dinner to raise funds for the sickle cell disease and treatment center at Robert-Debré pediatric hospital in Paris. This orphan disease affects nearly 50 million people around the world.  Dr. Malika Benkerrou, whose work has received support from LVMH since 2011, said: “LVMH’s support has enabled us to significantly advance several research projects that were lacking resources. Thank you, and ‘bravo’ to all those who have invested in the future of children they do not know, but who nevertheless have important needs.”

This year also featured a special lottery to raise funds for single-parent families. LVMH Houses donated prizes, including a Lady Dior bag, a bottle of Hennessy Impérial cognac and a gift certificate for treatment for two people at the Guerlain spa at 68 Champs-Elysées. The funds raised will be donated to the “K d’Urgence” foundation created to aid these families by journalist Christine Kelly, a member of the CSA French audiovisual authority.

Concluding the event, Chantal Gaemperle, Group Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Synergies, said: “This evening organized to support the fight against sickle cell anemia and the K d’Urgence Foundation has a lighthearted side since it brings us together with friends who share our commitment and partners who join us daily to advance our social responsibility initiatives.
