The first edition of the Viva Technology show drew over 45,000 visitors. The groundbreaking event proved a resounding success, bringing together major French and international companies, Internet and digital players and budding startups. LVMH was one of the main partners of Viva Technology.
A hub where young entrepreneurs had a chance to meet representatives of LVMH and its Houses, the LVMH Luxury Lab hosted pitches by 44 selected startups from around the world. Welcomed by LVMH Chief Digital Officer Ian Rogers and his team, these entrepreneurs demonstrated amazing creativity and unshakeable conviction in presenting a vast variety of ideas and innovations.
The show was also a chance to spotlight some of the many high-profile innovations from LVMH Houses, such as the Sephora Beauty Board, Krug iD and the connected watch designed by TAG Heuer, all presented with real passion by LVMH teams. As the digital transformation accelerates, LVMH reaffirmed its commitment to putting innovation at the heart of its strategy.
Viva Technology was at the same time a unique platform for exchanges and a laboratory for new ideas during round tables and conferences. The speakers and panelists included a number of LVMH executives. Jean-Baptiste Voisin, Chief Strategy Officer of LVMH, Ian Rogers, CDO of LVMH, Rachel Marouani, CEO of Fred, Laurent Boillot, CEO of Guerlain and Cha-Ling, Elodie Sebag, General Manager of Cha Ling and Daniel Coutinho, Managing Director of Nowness were on hand to talk about how innovation impacts their business.
Thanks to support from LVMH, the SeaBubbles project led by Alain Thébault and Anders Bringdal, which aims to revolutionize urban transportation, enjoyed a magnificent showcase at the show. Visitors to the SeaBubbles exhibit included none other than French President François Hollande, Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs Minister Emmanuel Macron and Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo.
