Position

The Berluti Namiki boutique is our biggest flagship nationwide. It is poised for a new key phase of its development in Fall 2026, with the opening of a luxurious, multi-functional lounge. This exclusive space will cater to a highly curated audience of Very Important Clients and Friends of the House, providing an ideal setting for receptions, dinners, bespoke sessions and other private events.

To support this initiative, Berluti is seeking a highly experienced and refined Hospitality Manager, who will be instrumental in crafting an unparalleled guest experience within this private sanctuary.

The successful candidate will embody a personalized, warm, and impeccable service, demonstrating outstanding cultural and relational sensitivity. In close collaboration with our retail team, he/she will transform every visit and event into a rare, intimate, and perfectly contextualized moment, fostering relevant connections between our guests, the Maison Berluti, and its vibrant local environment. He/she will also be able to carry a wide-ranging conversation, with genuine general culture and a lively understanding of Tokyo’s cultural and artistic scene, showing curiosity, tact and the ability to connect people and create meaningful introductions that help engage and retain our most important clients.

Job responsibilities

1. Act as a Maison Ambassador

    • Cultivate a profound understanding of Berluti's brand values, philosophy, and aesthetics, acting as a distinguished Maison ambassador.
    • Articulate the Maison's rich history, tradition, and core values, thereby deepening guests’ appreciation and connection.
    • Demonstrate a strong aptitude for conveying Maison know-how with passionate expertise.
    • Develop an in-depth understanding of each guest's individual needs and deliver bespoke services that consistently exceed expectations.
    • Cultivate and animate a refined “art of conversation” in the lounge: speak to a broad range of topics, stay attuned to Tokyo’s cultural and artistic news, and facilitate relevant connections and introductions among guests.
    • Actively solicit and analyze guests’ feedback to continuously elevate the overall experience.

 

2. Operate to the highest hospitality standards

    • Oversee all daily operations of the lounge, ensuring the maintenance of the highest service standards of service commensurate with the Berluti brand image.
    • Coordinate the meticulous setup of the space for all bespoke sessions (bootmaker and tailor) in close collaboration with the in-store retail and headquarters.
    • Curate a personalized and seamless guest experience from the moment of arrival through departure, anticipating guest profiles and dynamics, set the right conversation tone, and discreetly guide interactions to ensure every moment feels effortless, engaging and perfectly paced.
    • Supervise all operational aspects, including the pristine maintenance of the lounge environment, meticulous inventory management and oversight of third-party partners.
    • Support the planning and execution of special events and activities
    • Own and animate selected experience markers that enrich the lounge spirit (e.g., music curation and the Maison’s vinyl ritual), ensuring they elevate hospitality, spark conversation and deepen guest engagement.

 

3. Facilitate partnership and collaboration

    • Collaborate closely with various Berluti departments (sales, marketing, product development) to ensure comprehensive service delivery to guests and proactively anticipate business needs and requirements.
    • Ensure seamless collaboration with the store team, fostering synergies, sharing best practices, and enabling effective information flows.
    • Coordinate with external vendors (e.g. catering, event planners) to ensure the provision of consistently high-quality services.

Profile

1. Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of management experience in the hospitality industry, preferably within luxury hotels, high-end restaurants, or private clubs.

2. Knowledge & Skills:

    • Exceptional hospitality spirit and passion for unparalleled client service.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Exceptional mastery of the art of conversation and social intelligence: active listening, adapting tone and vocabulary, and creating meaningful introductions and connections.
    • Strong general culture and an active, informed grasp of Tokyo’s cultural and artistic scene; ability to speak with ease and credibility to sophisticated audiences.
    • International mindset, with the proven ability to interact with guests from diverse cultural backgrounds.
    • Profound interest in luxury goods, craftsmanship and the art of fine living.
    • Fluency in Japanese and English.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and a keen sense of aesthetics.

3. Personal Attributes:

    • Demonstrate high emotional intelligence, discretion and exemplary professionalism in all circumstances.
    • Ensure absolute confidentiality and total discretion regarding guests, their habits, and their personal networks.
    • Navigate with tact and finesse within an environment characterized by sensitive and privileged relationships.

BERLUTI
MAISON

Berluti has been making shoes for the elegant man since it was founded. The Duke of Windsor, Jean Cocteau, Andy Warhol… The greatest clients walked through the House’s doors, each one passionate about and captivated by the timeless elegance of these exceptional shoes, elevated to the rank of works of art. Offbeat classicism and technical virtuosity are keynotes of the House, while its character remains the same. Its story began at the end of the 19th century, when a young 30-year-old Italian brought his creative energy to Paris in order to practice his craft as a master shoemaker. He named his first model, a lace-up shoe, after himself, Alessandro, and the House took his surname, Berluti. Since then, every generation of the House has cultivated exceptional savoir-faire in the mastery of form and working with leather and patinas. The result is models that are incomparably elegant and comfortable. But more than simply a prestigious shoemaker, Berluti has always represented a certain art de vivre. Naturally, new areas of expression have been explored: leather goods in 2005, and in 2011 a ready-to-wear line was launched.
