Key Responsibilities

1. Merchandising Strategy & Assortment Planning

Develop and execute seasonal merchandising strategies for Men’s Shoes, RTW, Leather Goods, and Accessories, ensuring alignment with global brand direction and local consumer preferences.

Lead the seasonal selection process, defining the right product mix, depth, and breadth for all channels (boutiques, e-commerce, and wholesale).

Manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) budgets and forecast demand based on historical data, current trends, and market intelligence.

Collaborate with global merchandising teams to advocate for China-specific needs and potential regional exclusives.

2. Market Analysis & Business Reporting to headquarters

Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify client needs, emerging trends, competitor activities, and opportunities within the Chinese luxury sector.

Prepare comprehensive business reviews and strategic presentations for Global Headquarters, highlighting China market performance, challenges, and growth initiatives.

Translate global strategies into actionable local plans, ensuring clear communication of market insights to international stakeholders.

Monitor KPIs including sell-through, stock turnover, and margin performance, providing data-driven recommendations to the General Manager.

3. Product Training & Retail Support

Design and deliver regular product training sessions for boutique teams and client advisors, focusing on craftsmanship, collection stories, and selling points across all categories.

Create easy-to-understand training materials and visual guides to enhance staff product knowledge and confidence.

Gather feedback from front-line teams regarding customer preferences and product fit, feeding these insights back into the merchandising and product development cycles.

Support retail operations in maintaining high visual merchandising standards and optimal stock presentation.

4. Made-to-Measure (MTO) Business Management

Oversee the end-to-end MTO process in China, ensuring smooth order placement, production tracking, and delivery coordination with the global atelier.

Analyze MTO sales performance and customer profiles to identify growth opportunities and optimize the bespoke offering.

Support boutique teams in promoting MTO services and managing client expectations regarding lead times and customization options.

Ensure strict adherence to quality control standards for all bespoke orders.

Marketing & Clienteling: Collaborate with Marketing to align product launches with local campaigns, VIP events, and digital initiatives. Provide product insights to the Clienteling team to support personalized outreach and sales storytelling.

Supply Chain & Logistics: Liaise with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery of seasonal collections and MTO orders, proactively resolving any supply chain bottlenecks.

Finance: Work with the Finance team to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the merchandising department.

6. Inventory Management & Team Leadership

Monitor weekly sales and stock levels; proactively manage inventory health through transfers, markdowns, or promotional strategies as needed.

BERLUTI
MAISON

Berluti has been making shoes for the elegant man since it was founded. The Duke of Windsor, Jean Cocteau, Andy Warhol… The greatest clients walked through the House’s doors, each one passionate about and captivated by the timeless elegance of these exceptional shoes, elevated to the rank of works of art. Offbeat classicism and technical virtuosity are keynotes of the House, while its character remains the same. Its story began at the end of the 19th century, when a young 30-year-old Italian brought his creative energy to Paris in order to practice his craft as a master shoemaker. He named his first model, a lace-up shoe, after himself, Alessandro, and the House took his surname, Berluti. Since then, every generation of the House has cultivated exceptional savoir-faire in the mastery of form and working with leather and patinas. The result is models that are incomparably elegant and comfortable. But more than simply a prestigious shoemaker, Berluti has always represented a certain art de vivre. Naturally, new areas of expression have been explored: leather goods in 2005, and in 2011 a ready-to-wear line was launched.
