Job Description: Director, Workforce Management & Process Improvement
Reports to: VP, Retail Excellence
General Purpose of Position:
The Director of Workforce Management will lead our workforce planning, scheduling, and optimization efforts including cross functional process improvement leadership. This role will be critical in ensuring that our workforce is effectively aligned with our business goals and operational needs.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive workforce management strategies to optimize staffing levels and ensure operational efficiency.
- Lead the workforce planning process, including forecasting, scheduling, and real-time management of workforce resources.
- Lead process improvement projects utilizing Lean & Six Sigma tools and philosophies.
- Utilize data analytics to monitor and analyze workforce performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Collaborate with department heads and HR to understand staffing needs and develop solutions to address workforce challenges.
- Partner with appropriate functional teams to ensure workforce management processes align with business ambitions, company policies, and appropriate labor regulations.
- Implement and maintain workforce management systems and tools to enhance productivity and streamline operations.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the workforce management team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Prepare and present reports on workforce metrics, performance, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.

- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in workforce management software and tools, including scheduling systems and time and attendance systems.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills to oversee workforce management initiatives from conception to completion.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Profile
Requirements:
- Minimum of 9+ years of experience in workforce management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience leading and participating in process improvement projects – preferably with Lean / Six Sigma certifications (Green/Black Belt)
- Strong knowledge of workforce management principles, practices, and tools.
- Proficiency in workforce management software and data analytics.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Flexibility to respond to unexpected challenges and opportunities.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in workforce planning and scheduling. Ability to identify and address discrepancies in workforce data.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to work a full-time schedule including varied hours / days including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Additional information
The selected candidate will be offered a salary within the range of $145,000 - $160,000 annually, plus bonus eligibility. The salary offered will be dependent upon the candidate’s relevant skills and experience.
