YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

CELINE, an internationally renowned luxury fashion house, is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Merchandising to lead our Leathergoods and Accessories categories. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing merchandising strategies that align with the brand's ethos and market trends. This strategic role involves cross-functional collaboration to ensure product assortments capture the essence of CELINE’s luxury standards while meeting commercial objectives.

 

YOUR IMPACT

- Define and implement merchandising strategies for Leathergoods and Accessories categories in line with brand vision and financial goals.

- Work closely with the Vice President of Merchandising on range planning activities ensuring alignment across all categories within the department.

- Manage category performance by analyzing sales data, monitoring inventory levels, and adjusting plans as necessary to maximize revenue growth and profitability.

- Lead market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges within the leather goods and accessories sectors.

- Collaborate closely with the central Merchandising team to develop cohesive product assortments that resonate with our target customers.

- Supervise two direct reports: Leathergoods Merchandising Manager and Accessories Merchandising Manager; provide leadership and guidance in their respective category management.

- Build strong relationships with key retail partners to align the region with the merchandising strategy of Leathergoods and Accessories.

- Coordinate with Visual Merchandising teams to ensure consistent presentation of products across all retail channels.

- Drive innovation within the product assortment by staying ahead of industry advancements and consumer preferences

Profile

KEYS FOR SUCCESS

Education & Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

- At least 8 years of merchandising experience in a luxury fashion environment with a focus on leather goods and accessories.

- Proven track record managing high-performing teams.

 

Competencies:

- Strong analytical skills paired with a creative mindset.

- Excellent leadership abilities to inspire team members towards excellence.

- In-depth knowledge of luxury fashion market dynamics including customer segmentation

, competitive analysis, pricing strategies.

- Proficiency in retail math and inventory management principles.

- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal; ability to present complex concepts clearly across different audiences within the organization

- Strategic thinker who can also execute tactically

- Detail-oriented individual who thrives under pressure

 

Working Conditions:

Standard office hours apply (4 days in office, 1 day remote); however expectation includes flexibility to attend industry events outside normal working hours as required by seasonal cycles or critical project timelines. Up to 50% domestic and international travel may be necessary depending on business needs.

The compensation for this position ranges from $160,000k - $190,000k annually. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience. In addition, there is a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, various paid time off programs, employee discount/perks, and a retirement plan with employer contribution.
