Born in New York City in April 1963, Marc Jacobs attended the High School of Art and Design and graduated from Parsons School of Design. As a design student, Jacobs was the recipient of some of the School's highest honours including Design Student of the Year.

 

In 1984, The Marc Jacobs Label was founded alongside business partner Robert Duffy and has since become a global brand.

 

Objective of the Role

As a Sales Ambassador in our store, you will be an Ambassador of the brand, effectively providing a great customer journey by building and maintaining loyal clients to maximise profitability and productivity. In addition to your sales responsibilities, you will play a key role in maintaining and operating an efficient stock room, ensuring the luxury quality of Marc Jacobs products is upheld.

Main Responsibilities

 

 

Brand Ambassador

  • Excite and instil passion and pride for the brand
  • Embody the brand image for customers and the store team with a strong understanding of the brand DNA
  • Lead by example and demonstrate role model behaviour that is always representative of the brand, adhering to dress codes and appearance guidelines

 

General Store VM / Client & Stock Management

  • Reflect the visual merchandising guidelines promoting the brand image
  • Enhance customer service standards in store to ensure the best client journey
  • Maintain stock room standards that reflect the brand image at all times
  • Ensure all products are boxed, labelled and stored correctly in the stockroom, and that products on display are properly maintained to reduce stock damage
  • Maintain a general awareness of product aftercare, leathers, and handling risks to avoid stock loss

 

Sales / Business Monitoring

  • Welcome all clients to ensure they feel comfortable in the environment and educate them about the brand
  • Build and maintain lasting client relationships and grow your personal client book via CRM
  • Introduce complementary products targeted to your client and share product knowledge to drive sales and achieve targets
  • Process sales in a confident and professional manner
  • Drive product knowledge by keeping up to date with fashion trends and all product lines
  • Ensure all Company policies and procedures are adhered to

 

Stock Control & Back Office

  • Ensure all internal stock transfers are properly recorded at the time of movement and transfer stock between stores when needed
  • Receive all deliveries and verify that stock corresponds to invoices with no damage
  • Maintain replenishment to ensure sufficient product availability on the shop floor at all times
  • Minimise stock loss by conducting weekly rotative inventories and bi-annual stock takes
  • Resolve stock discrepancies by investigating missing products and double-checking all stock
  • Complete weekly reports detailing rotative inventory results with comments explaining any discrepancies
  • Ensure CITES requests are completed for all exotic products
  • Monitor stationery stock levels and place orders to prevent shortages

Profile

Profile & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in sales and stock control in a fashion environment, preferably luxury
  • Experience in selling RTW / LG
  • Passion for fashion, sales, and stock management
  • Commitment to achieving and exceeding targets whilst focusing on the client's needs and experience
  • Excellent personal presentation — a Marc Jacobs Brand Ambassador
  • Understanding of Retail KPIs
  • Strong ability to prioritise, multi-task, and deliver against deadlines under pressure
  • Proactive, solution-oriented approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external teams
  • Fluent level of English is essential; additional languages are an advantage
