Position

The Finance Director Europe is a key strategic partner to the President Europe and the Senior Management Team, responsible for steering the financial strategy of multiple countries, ensuring full compliance, and driving performance across the region.
This role combines strong financial expertise with leadership, agility and the ability to support business decisions across retail, wholesale, e-commerce and operational functions.

Job responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Act as a trusted financial advisor to the Europe President and senior leadership, contributing to strategic decisions with clear, data-driven insights.
  • Challenge assumptions, provide scenario analysis and translate financial information into actionable recommendations.
  • Support commercial and retail teams with robust performance analyses, KPIs review, customer and market insights.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics and macro-financial conditions to inform future business planning.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ensure financial alignment across all departments.

Accounting, Tax, Treasury & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations and tax requirements across all European markets.
  • Supervise relationships with banks, auditors, tax advisors and key external partners.
  • Oversee tax compliance, tax reporting, and Transfer Pricing documentation.
  • Guarantee accurate accounting practices across countries, ensuring consistency with Group policies and local GAAP/IFRS.
  • Supervise all finance activities related to e-commerce operations.

Group Reporting (IFRS)

  • Lead monthly IFRS reporting, consolidating results and providing clear variance analyses.
  • Oversee sales reporting, margin analysis, stock monitoring and other group-required submissions.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial packages and business performance updates for Regional and Corporate HQ.

Controlling & Performance Management

  • Lead the full budget process, working closely with department heads to build accurate, realistic and business-driven plans.
  • Own the forecasting cycle and ensure timely updates reflecting business evolution.
  • Prepare business cases and financial plans for new store openings and major investments.
  • Control and optimize CAPEX, operating costs and regional profitability.
  • Monitor store-level transactions, retail KPIs and operational efficiency.
  • Drive cost discipline through clear analyses, challenges and actionable insights.

Internal Control & Process Excellence

  • Ensure solid internal control systems and alignment with Group standards.
  • Strengthen financial processes, increase accuracy, and promote operational excellence across the region.
  • Implement and animate Group policies, ensuring adoption by local finance teams and stakeholders.
  • Identify process gaps and lead improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Manage, coach and develop a network of Country Controllers across 5+ European markets.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, clarity, continuous improvement and cross-country collaboration.
  • Elevate the finance function as a true business partner throughout the regional organization.

 

Profile

  • 7–10 years’ experience in a senior finance role within an international, multi-country organization; luxury/fashion/retail experience is a strong plus.
  • Degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration; MSc/MBA preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills, able to influence and partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex information and engaging non-financial audiences.
  • High integrity, proactive attitude, problem-solving mindset.
  • Energetic, curious, intellectually rigorous, and motivated by growth, transformation and operational excellence.
  • Fluent in English and Italian; French is a plus.

MAISON

The Fendi Maison was established by Adele and Edoardo Fendi in Rome in 1925. The opening of the first Fendi boutique – a handbag shop and fur workshop followed. Soon winning international acclaim, Fendi emerged as a brand renowned for its elegance, craftsmanship, innovation and style. Called by the legendary five Fendi sisters, the collaboration with the late Karl Lagerfeld began back in 1965 and lasted 54 years. In 1992, Silvia Venturini Fendi seconded him in the Artistic Direction; in 1994, she is given the direction of Accessories and later of Menswear. In 2000, the LVMH group acquires Fendi becoming in 2001 its majority shareholder. Appointed in 2020, Kim Jones held the role of Artistic Director of Couture and Womenswear until 2024. Since 2020, Delfina Delettrez Fendi, fourth generation of the Fendi family, is Artistic Director of Jewellery. Today Fendi is synonymous with quality, tradition, experimentation and creativity.
