POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Senior Commercial Manager to lead Commercial, Retail and Brand Operations for KENDO across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting into the Senior Brand Director ANZ and partnering closely with cross-functional teams, this role will be instrumental in driving sales growth, deepening retail partnerships, optimising brand operations, and achieving key commercial KPIs.

This is a pivotal leadership position within the Kendo ANZ team and offers the opportunity to shape and deliver the long-term commercial vision in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Job responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Retail Partnerships

  • Develop and deliver annual and 5-year commercial strategies in partnership with the Senior Brand Director
  • Own P&L accountability across ANZ, ensuring retail and wholesale targets are exceeded
  • Lead Joint Business Planning and negotiations with key retailers to secure market-leading support and drive brand visibility
  • Identify growth opportunities across channels and categories to strengthen Kendo’s competitive position
  • Partner with Marketing to build commercially effective, brand aligned go-to-market and activation plans

Brand Operations & Performance

  • Oversee forecasting, sales reporting and demand planning to ensure accuracy and inventory health
  • Optimise commercial processes to drive efficiency, improve ROI and maximise sell-through
  • Lead the commercial rhythm of the business including S&OP, newness planning, performance tracking and reporting
  • Execute strategic markdowns, promotions and stock strategies in alignment with brand and financial goals
  • Collaborate with Sales & Education, VM and Logistics to ensure flawless in-store execution and retail readiness

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Commercial and Sales & Education team, fostering accountability and engagement
  • Support the team with clear development plans and conduct regular performance reviews to drive growth and alignment
  • Champion an inclusive, entrepreneurial and collaborative team culture where people thrive and feel inspired
  • Role-model Kendo’s “can do” mindset and act as a key driver of local team culture

Profile

  • 8–10 years’ experience in a Commercial, Sales or Category leadership role (experience in beauty, retail or FMCG highly regarded)
  • Proven ability to influence strategic conversations and drive retail partnerships that deliver revenue and growth
  • Demonstrated success managing a P&L and using data to drive decision-making and performance outcomes
  • Confident leading cross-functional teams and coaching others to reach their full potential
  • Strong commercial acumen with advanced Excel and forecasting skills
  • A natural communicator who builds trust quickly and navigates complex stakeholder environments with ease
  • Agile, solutions-focused, and energised by working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • You balance strategic thinking with hands on execution and you bring creativity, curiosity and drive to everything you do
